There was something about the Vatheon locals that kept the city cheery. Despite their vague answers and the general quiet presence they give, they still always have a smile on their face and always always throw the best parties. Today was no exception

BOAT RACES (and other pond activities)

[Seems a group of locals have spent this past week building miniature boats to race in the pond. Care to join in? First to reach the bridge wins!]

Hmm.

[ She shrugs, then. Now that she thinks about it, it wouldn't be totally implausible for a monster to be here in the city. Though she doesn't see Adachi as the type to warn for it.

He'd probably just...run, or something.

They finally come up on the dunk tank though, and after watching for a brief moment as the latest victim got dunked, she grabs a towel from the stash and hands it to him. ]

Well, here. There's more, too, if you need it.

[ ...obviously. Eh, he knows the drill by now. ]

[Ah, that's right-- he accepts the towel, rubbing his hair dry first, peering up at her from under the towel.]

Thank you.

[...then he glances over to the dunk tank as well.]

...It would be unfortunate to get caught in that mess.

Definitely.

...They're usually so accommodating and polite, too. Randomly pulling people in to go through that seems pretty rude.

[ And she watches, too.

Splash! Another one bites the dust-- ]

Maybe they're bored.

[That explains everything, right?]

[ F-FFFF--snerk. ]

...I guess so. There does seem to be a lot of downtime once the curses end.

[ ...shrug. But if she were allowed to do something like that every time she was bored, there would be a lot less dry people around. ]

[He inspects the dunking tank a moment longer, arching an eyebrow when someone is dunked, before he responds.]

There is. They're very accommodating, like you said. I suppose it's not surprising they enjoy things like this sometimes.

[ She nods.

She's reminded a bit of summer back at home, really. Even Aigis got in on the watery fun in Yakushima. ]

Oh--did you want to change, too?

[ And she examines his wet clothes.

Towels can only do so much. ]

[A brief pause and then he gives a resigned nod in turn.]

I hate to leave the festival so early, but I don't think catching a cold would be a good idea. I probably should go get changed.

[ She chuckles a little. ]

Well, the festival won't go anywhere. We can always come back, if you feel like it.

[ Luckily, the Volo Dorms aren't that far, anyway. ]

Come on.

[He nods as well.]

That's true. Alright.

[And he's content to follow her on over to the dorms, hands tucked into (wet) pockets, though thankfully he's less dripping wet now and more damp.]

[ And back towards the dorms they go.

She looks a bit relieved actually, to put some more distance between her and Adachi after what she did. She lets out a sigh as they arrive, and she opens the door quickly and holds it open for Minato.

The rest of the festival did look fun, but--well--

Maybe a quiet day at home wouldn't be so bad either.

...They'll see. ]

[Indeed they will, and he sees that relief. But first he quietly excuses himself to go get changed--and when he comes down, dry now, he asks.]

Was something about the festival bothering you?

[ She is fairly lost in thought when he walks back down in his dry clothes, so she jumps, a bit startled. Her back straightens--

And then she's calm. ]

O-Oh! No, not really. I mean, n-nothing we didn't already talk about...you know.

[He shakes his head at that, hands in his pockets and looking at her. Ah...so the water dunking, then? Well, no need to make a fuss about it.]

No, that's alright. There will be other festivals, I'm sure.

Would you like anything to drink?

[They could spend a peaceful evening at home, couldn't they?]

[She smiles a bit. They could look forward to the next one, then.]

Mmm, to be honest, I don't remember what we have.

[She picked up some tea and hot chocolate last time she was at the store, didn't she? But she's kind of in the mood for something cold and refreshing.
