"Uhh ... y-yes I'm okay."

The impact from the sudden crash had her slumped against a large sign, but she quickly straightened up. Rubbing a sore spot on her arm, Fuuka looked at the tall man with blazing red-hair, the hair color immediately reminding her of her senior. Only his hair was much more brighter.

Shaking her head, she tried to focus on the situation.

"... What about you? Are you injured anywhere?"

Dusting himself off more out of idle habit than the supposition he had somehow gotten dirty bumping into the girl, Axel shook his head.

"No, I'm fine, it's not like you've got pointy edges or anything," he said with a grin.

Rubbing the crown of his head with one hand, he regarded her a moment, the grin sort of fading into a look of mild discomfort: it wasn't like him to be so spaced-out he ran into people. Axel was usually a little too aware of his surroundings. Well, he'd had a lousy week, so maybe it was excusable.

"Ah, that was... totally my fault," he said, sort of surprising himself with the admittance. "I was hoping something would pop out at me, but maybe I should'a been more specific. You sure you're okay?" He'd seen her rub her arm. "I do kinda have some pointy edges," he chortled, patting one decidedly sharp elbow with his opposite palm. Contrary to popular belief, while Axel may not have hesitated to destroy Vexen on orders, he didn't really enjoy going around injuring random people. Especially girls who hadn't ( ... )

Fuuka blinked at the man before her, in surprise at first and the next second, with mild amusement. She laughed lightly, shaking her head.

"I really am fine. I was just surprised. See?" She knew that she did look a little sickly and fragile since sickness was used as a convincing cover-up for her bullying incident. So she stretched out her arms, to show that she was indeed perfectly fine. Her right arm still ached a little, but that was something a good night's rest could heal.

"But please do watch out? I wouldn't want your sharp edge to actually hurt someone, including you." She added gently.

"Surprised..." Yeah, that was one way to put it. He nodded then, one hand on the back of his neck. "Right, yeah; I try and use my sharp edges responsibly."

There was a beat of silence in which Axel just looked the girl over briefly. She was small and thin, with a dainty look about her. He found himself thinking that she looked to him like the kind of girl who knew a thing or two about, well... stuff girls liked. She also seemed rather congenial and just generally nice, so he figured maybe she would be willing to steer him in the right direction.

"So can I ask you something?" he asked, folding his arms and trying to look as casual as possible. "If you were a girl--which you are--who liked seashells, which... I suppose is also entirely possible..."--he gave her a hesitantly inquiring look--"and someone wanted to get you a present... what would you choose?"

She noticed the quick staring the stranger gave her. It was rather unnerving, but she tried her best not to fidget under his gaze. Why was he giving her that look?

But her question is answered shortly after. This man was looking for a gift for a girl, and by the look of it, someone important. And he needed suggestions. Fuuka, now suppressing a relieved laughter, ponders over a good gift for his friend.

"A girl who likes seashells," she repeats, "I suppose, I would like a large conch shell. It's not easy to find a pretty one, plus it can be used as an instrument."
