[ In the Plaza, above the bustle of people, one might hear the notes of an ocarina playing a soft, slow song. Just following the sound will bring you to a certain princess, who has perched on a low wall, and is swaying slightly as she plays the blue

[ The melody is soothing, and one that catches the attention of Hubert. Off to investigate, he's more than a little surprised when he sees who's playing the music. ]

. . . Princess?

[royalsheikah]

[ Zelda stops playing and looks up, a smile crossing her face. ]

Hubert! It is good to see you again.

[ Even if it means being in Vatheon again. ]

[obsequience]

[ His hand flies up to the bridge of his nose, settling right above his glasses. Too fast, this is going too fast. ]

Y-yes. It is nice to see you . . . again.

[royalsheikah]

[ She notices he seems uncomfortable for some reason, but her smile does not fade. ]

How have you been in -- whatever time it is I have been gone?

[obsequience]

Roughly a month, assuming you'd been returned recently.

[ That's how long she's been gone, as far as he knows. Anyway. He lowers his hand, straightening. ]

And well.

Very recently, in fact.

[ A month. Hm. She considers that for a moment, before remembering - ]

I'm glad to hear it. I trust there have been no more dinosaurs?

[obsequience]

I see . . .

[ Then just about. ]

Not since they departed. For the most part, things have been as they usually are.

[royalsheikah]

Good. Well, not that we are still prisoners, but that the place is peaceful enough again.

[obsequience]

Relatively, at any rate. Strange events occur at the most unexpected times . . .

[ Or not, because one would always expect something to be odd. ]

[royalsheikah]

Well then! We will just have to be happy for the times we have relief and prepared for the times we do not.

[ Preparation was the best cure in Zelda's opinion, after all. ]

[obsequience]

[ You know what, Zelda? He agrees. Emphatically. ]

Yes. If anything, being able to adapt quickly to the situation is probably one of the most useful traits in Vatheon . . .

[royalsheikah]

[ She is glad to find someone of like mind. ]

I think it is a useful trait for life in general.

[obsequience]

It's more useful than most people think it to be, in any case.

[royalsheikah]

I am glad to find someone else who thinks so.

Then again, you mentioned before you were a military officer, yes? I should not be surprised that you do.

[obsequience]

Admittedly, there are certain things that are difficult to . . . adapt to, even as an officer.

[ The cold. For one. But it's still best to try. ]

Of course. Nothing is ever as easy as we would like it to be.

[ Not that her life has proved that in harsh ways. ]
