[It had been a while since Riku had gone alone to gather his thoughts. With all the arrivals from "back home" he hadn't had much time to reflect, or in many cases... vent. Which is what he was doing now, in the forest. For

[Katsu can feel someone with power moving through the area, and he heads towards it. He's not sure what kind of power it is, but it's strong. The sight of the boy striking the trees makes him pause. He must be the source of it. He'll watch a little longer to see what he can do.]

Thursday

[This is the second day in a row that Rep has sensed Riku out in the forest. That by itself isn't unusual, since it's Riku's routine. Rep stopped fixating on Riku's energy signal once he figured that out, but today he feels a surge out there - almost like Riku's power had doubled.

His curiosity is too great. He pockets his SFC, changes into Dark Mode and summons his Soul Eater at the same time, then teleports to the general area where he thinks Riku is. He winds up a few yard away, and that's when the scent gets more distinct. It's not Riku with twofold power; it's Riku and someone else with a nearly identical scent to his and Rep's own. Only at close range can Rep discern the difference.

He takes a few steps toward the not-Riku scent, eventually coming upon another young man.]

Hey, you there! Who are you?

[He senses the sudden power, and waits for him to approach, before turning to face the second silver-haired boy. He looked really close to the first, but... huh. He smiles at the boy.]

My name's Katsu. What's yours?

[Well that smile's a little disarming. He opens his mouth, closes it, and tries again.]

Caden. [Beat.] Why does your power smell so much like his? [He jerks his head towards Riku, off a little ways.]

[Xion's definitely noticing a familiar sort of Darkness emanating from the forest. She debates on whether or not to take a look for a moment, but gathers up her courage (or just ignores those little alarm-bell instincts), and opens a Corridor to the source of the Darkness.

Stepping out, she blinks a few times when she sees Riku striking at trees, and she pushes back her hood to watch. She hadn't spoken to him since she'd gone looking for answers, and now she felt a little...strange, seeing him there.

She waited for him to notice, just hanging back and observing.]

YOU BETTER BE SLEEPING, GIRL. B|

[Well good; he'd been worried that his Darkness wasn't strong enough to notice. Note to self: find different location to train.

Whether or not he noticed the portal opening was obvious--he froze for a moment. After all, two or three people who were capable of opening Corridors were friends of his--it was a little confusing when it came to Xion, after all.

...And it truly figures she's the one who came. Riku turns his head, dismissing the Keyblade.] ...Xion?

I DIDN'T WAKE UP UNTIL LIKE, TWO THIS AFTERNOON OKAY

It's me. [She gives a weak smile, fidgeting slightly.]

Training? [That's what it looked like, at least, but Xion felt a little awkward standing there when she didn't have all that much to say.]

...OKAY, BETTER THAN ME AT LEAST.

[He nods. Well, might as well offer.]

[ Oh Riku. Why you insist on coming alone to the forest is beyond the doctor's comprehension. At any rate, he steps out from between the trees as the boy's doing his practice. ]

Preparing yourself for any oncoming danger, boy?

[Because it's where he goes to calm down--looks like that may change thanks to this encounter, though. He paused the moment he felt that presence and went only to the basics by the time Muraki was close enough to see. After all, he didn't exactly know just how much the doc knew of his skills.

Eye twitch.] I'd rather not get rusty.

[xblood_lusting]

[ What he knows he remembers from that Halloween night. Interesting to see what he can do now, though. ]

What with all those coming in from your homeworld? Best you remain prepared.

I'd wager that... Ansem, I believe his name was... is no big fan of yours?

[And even then, that hadn't been that much...right? Who knows. His teeth clench, grateful his back is to the doc for the moment before he turns around, cool as a cucumber. What? He's gotten used to shoving his emotions aside.]

Your point? [After all, not many people here from his 'homeworld' were friendly.]

[Zexion hadn't meant to stumble onto Riku's practice session, but he'd been near the park when that familiar smell assailed him and his curiosity took over. As he watched the practice the old saying about curiosity and cats came to him full force, bringing little comfort with it. Well, as long as he wasn't noticed, it'd be all right.]

[And he was continuing his practice, until he sensed an old, vaguely familiar stench coming his way. It had been a while and the time he'd spent around the Nobody wasn't long enough to memorize it as clearly as the darkness in his bones nor the light that belonged to Kairi, but still the same hint all Nobodies had was prevalent. Just enough to make him go on edge.

Sorry, but he noticed. Hence the double flip in the air so he's now facing Zexion's direction as he continues. If he made any unexpected movements, though...]

Didn't your parents ever tell you it's rude to spy. [Oh, wait- What was that Lea said?]

[Good thing he wasn't one for sudden moves; unless you count stepping casually out from behind the trees he had chosen as a hiding spot.]

It is a rude action, good thing that's not what I was doing. I prefer to think of it as observing.

[It doesn't count, thankfully for him. And pfft, that was his excuse for months when it came to a certain Nobody's comrades.]
