[ Godric had been doing his usual tours of the city when he came across James - and he noted with a small smile that the boy didn't seem happy. It was the opposite, and it was hint enough to suggest that he was new. Stepping forward he let his hand slip away from where it had been resting on his sword so that he could bow instead, offering what he hoped was a comforting smile. ]

[James turns, taken by surprise, and stops short for a moment to stare. He has an immediate round of ways to make fun of the man's appearance before reminding himself that no, he's been working on stopping immediate rudeness, no matter how cold and wet he is]

It's probably pretty obvious, so not at all. [it's a wry tone, not a sarcastic one] Though usually I could fix this easily-- I'm just having trouble.

It does take some time to get used to the change in pace here.

[ He nods his head and motions down towards the shopping centre of the middle district. ]

Er-- [this guy speaks like he's from centuries earlier] That'd be good for now, I guess. I'm pretty sure I have a few Galleons on me.

[At first, from a distance, she thought he was Harry. So she got really excited and made her way o--oh it's James.

[James is so excited to see a familiar face that he doesn't fully notice her tone or her expression. As far as he knows, they've finally crossed into "friendly" territory, and he's doing his best not to ruin that-- so the hand that automatically twitches to jump to his hair stays down, just a twitch. he remembers that she hates that.]

Lily! 'Course, can't get rid of me-- but where? And how? Blimey, I'm glad you're here, d'you know what's happened?

You're like an infection. [ Lily isn't as excited. Actually, she's turned a bit red. Thinking about James, Harry, the future, and possible time shenanigans was pretty flustering, after all. ]

But I suppose I can't just leave you with no information. [ le sigh ] Right. Well, this is Vatheon. It's an underwater city somewhere. We've all been kidnapped and brought here, with no known way out. It's not all that bad, but things can get pretty weird round here. Like different worlds and times and whatnot.

Also, everything here is free. You should have a mark that looks like this--[ She holds out her arm, showing him the small tattoo there. She's also got a few bandages, but those aren't really all that important. ]--I'm pretty sure it's the reason we don't have to pay for anything, but I'm not positive. Uhm...and I believe that's it.

Right, that's... [blinking] a lot to take in, give it a...

[he just stops in the middle of his sentence, having discovered his own tattoo on his left hand, then looks back to Lily's arm]

Lily, what happened to your arm?

[genuine concern. bandages are always important :| ]

Sorry, as wonderful a name as Harry sounds, I'm James.

[So this is...Harry's dad. Who really does look just like Harry. Except for the eyes, of course.]

I apologize. You look just like someone I know.

I doubt it, these looks are totally unique. [he grins and ruffles his hair]

"I could tell you, but I doubt you would believe me." Tom's voice was low, hiding his amusement somewhat, "You look like you could use a towel." he launched a towel, magically of course, towards James, "My name is Tom and, I believe, we are from the same world."

Motioning at James's wand, he brought out his own, his spidery fingers caressing the shaft.

James caught the towel by reflex, staring at the other boy. "Thanks," he said slowly, rubbing the towel on the back of his neck to catch the drops that were sliding from his hair. There was something familiar about Tom's voice, about his appearance, but James couldn't quite place it, though it didn't evoke anything pleasant.

"I'm James," he added after a pause, not taking his eyes off the long fingers running along the wand. For some reason the movement made him shiver. "What, is that implying there's a shot we wouldn't be?

Tom did not lower his wand, though he did smirk at James's final words. It was clear the boy did not know anything. Not yet, at least. Perhaps it was time to enlighten him.

"Yes." he tilted his head, "You and I are in another world entirely. This is...Vatheon." he motioned to the sea above their heads, "Think of it like another Atlantis."

Closing the space between them with long strides, Tom raised a hand, casting a Warming Charm with eerie ease. The sort of power this boy contained could not be completely weakened by his new home, after all. Though James might notice that he was wearing a silver Slytherin ring as well as another, much older ring on his thumb.
