Okay, something smelled good, and Xion's not going to resist taking a look at whatever's making the park smell delicious. She noticed the bonfire almost immediately, and she headed towards it, taking a look around when she saw the interesting spreads, utensils, plates, and a basket -- which she reasoned must have the food.

But, it seems a little weird and impolite to just sit down and start eating someone's food, so she mostly just stares at the bonfire, watching the flames flicker.

Yuri waves the locals who had helped set up goodbye, he really is appreciative this time, despite himself with his suspicions of them. And without even turning to the arrival, he almost chuckles at how the food is attracting attention just like he had planned.

"Hey, don't worry about it, do I look like I can even eat all this food by myself? Go grab a bite if you want."

Xion blinks when she realizes that he's talking to her, and then she turns a little pink. "Oh, um, thanks," she said, smiling slightly. "It all looks really good."

She goes to investigate a basket, crouching down and peering curiously inside it. All that food looks delicious.

Yuri blinked back at that, even if the other person wasn't even looking at him anymore. "I pride in my culinary skills." He flatly remarks with a smile; at least if there was anything he was good at other than getting into trouble, it was cooking.

[It was the smell of smoke that aroused her attention at first, though once she saw the food and the picnic arrangements, her suspicion immediately vanished. Naoto has never been camping before in her life, and it should be a rather interesting experience to watch, if not participate in.]

[She smiles before taking a seat on the ground and helping herself to a sandwich]

Just being polite. I presume that isn't a crime?

[This sandwich reminds her of Souji, and that is rather troubling but comforting]

[He laughs a little, at the statement. If anyone was in no authority to speak over what was and what wasn't a crime, it was Yuri.]

Not at all. I did this so I could find out how many of "us" there are.

[Hey! Food! That must mean people are around!]

Hullo~! Anyone there?

[Yuri stretches out his arm and waves in response. While from a distance, the bonfire should have lit up his silhouette enough.]

[The Doctor waves back and trots over to Yuri.]

Hello! I'm the Doctor! Did you make all this food?

[He gave a nod to the question, ready to raise an eyebrow if there would be any hint of surprise.]

Food and fire! Selphie was there in a heartbeat! She could be found crouched by one of the smaller fires, her large green eyes reflecting the light of the flames. She's already found herself a stick and pushed a marshmallow onto it. It burned slowly, eventually catching flame.

She remained silent. For a girl with so much to say, the thoughts of the past...that keeps her very quiet.

"You okay over there, Selphie?" Yuri walked over to the girl who seemed... rather out of it. Not her usual cheerful self. The two hadn't known eachother long, but Yuri already knew as much that Selphie was not one to be glum.

Selphie turned to look up at Yuri, a small smile managed on her face. "Oh. Hey. Yeah..." But she sounded not a little distracted, and she looked back to the fire, withdrawing her stick only to realise that her marshmallow was burned beyond edible. At this she sighed and dropped the stick into the fire.

With a few seconds of silence, he contemplated whether or not to persist asking whatever was wrong. As curious as he was over everyone's backgrounds, he wasn't going to badger them into confessing. So instead, he decided to keep her company and just sit down watching the same fire for a bit.

The twig was tossed back into the fire, Selphie's actions quick and feverish - since, after all, the flame was in danger of burning her finger.

"Yuri - did you know that that doesn't even make sense?"

Selphie laughed and flopped herself backwards, lying on the grass beside him. She keeps her eyes up at what would be the sky. While she'd heard what he'd said, staring up at the dome overhead had her distracted.

"I miss the stars."

"... Does it have to?" Yuri inquired, clearly rhetorical. He opens his eyes, and noticing Selphie looking up, he shifted his gaze above as well.

He kept quiet a while. It didn't help that the guild he was part of was named after the brightest star in the sky, back home. Its absence in the night was so unsettling, that he actually seamlessly admitted, "... I do too."

"Really makes it feel like something is missing...doesn't it?"

A rarity for Selphie, she also lapses into silence, wondering how it was that she was sure she'd seen stars, or something like it, since being in Vatheon.

She closed her eyes lightly before they openly widely and she turns suddenly on her side to look at Yuri, "We can ~make~ stars!"

He made a small grunt in agreement, still continuing to stare upwards.

Then with her exclamation, he turned to face her also, a confused look on his face. He said nothing snide this time, despite how weird her suggestion was.
