[Chie was out stretching her legs for the zillionth time that day, cheerfully walking the Plaza like it was no big deal.]

[Until she saw a very familiar figure interrogating one of the poor locals on the sidewalk.]

...Naoto-kun?!

[A sigh of relief; wonderful, a familiar face, and a friendly one at that.]

Satonaka - excellent. Perhaps you'll be able to tell me where we currently are; none of the citizens seem willing to answer a few simple questions.

Uh... sort of... not really. They don't tell anyone anything. All I can really tell you is that Vatheon's somewhere under the ocean.

[Naoto eyes Chie with her patented expression of disbelief, usually reserved for Teddie or Yosuke's antics; thinned lips and half-narrowed eyes]

Under the ocean? [Though, with a bit more urgency] Who are the 'they' you speak of?

[He really doesn't know why he decides to hang out in the plaza anymore. With all these strange people popping up everywhere, soaking wet and having no clue how they got here, it's pretty much impossible to get a decent relaxing afternoon.

Still, some people did come to help him when he had just arrived.

But he really doesn't want to get off this extremely comfy seat. The cafe is extremely charming. Hm. Decisions, decisions.

Well. That settles it. He'll compromise. Using his feet, he pushes out a chair for the new girl to slip into. He shifts in his seat to take a closer look at the scene, and notices that she looks pretty pissed off. He chuckles.]

Oi! You over there. Want a seat?

[She doesn't much appreciate being addressed as such, her temper pushed to its edge by confusion. The stranger's request makes her stop in her tracks and begin to eye him carefully; his clothing familiar from visits to Tokyo, posture relaxed and carefree, small wings on his back immediately making her think Shadow. Not a good sign].

I will pass. [She maintains steady eye contact] If you will answer a few questions, however, I'll be on my way. Where is this city?

[Kariya smirks in amusement as he pulls back the chair.]

Sure, suit yourself. [He isn't looking away either, but he looks really, really amused.] This is some crazy city called Vatheon. Apparently, we're under the ocean, or something.

[She's being made a fool of. He's smiling, amused, obviously, at her confusion. She rolls her shoulders back to make herself look as tall as possible, though that isn't much at all].

Under the ocean? A little cooperation and honesty is all that I ask. Where is this city really located, which country?

[Akihiko's on a break from being by the safehouse and helping others out, and when he notices a .... boy? That was a boy, right? Anyway, he looked new to the place, and not taking it too well, either. The locals won't satisfy her questions at all. So he made his way over to him.]

[Finally - cooperation. That shouldn't have been so hard to obtain. Naoto meets his eye as best she could, despite their height difference, and adjusts her cap]

Yes, I am. If you could answer a few questions, that would be all the help I need. Firstly, what is the name of this city and where is it located, and what is the nature of the creatures that seem to be following the both of us. [She says this all quickly].

Well, we're in Vatheon. You can't exactly leave and ... oh, they're fairies. They don't talk, or do much of anything. They just follow you around. Everyone here has one.

[This person was very ... specific, wasn't he? (she?)]

[She clears her throat slightly and makes care to deepen her voice slightly when she speaks. Best to appear as capable and to be taken as seriously as possible].

You said that we 'can't exactly leave' - what does that mean, exactly? I took no note of any guards or fortifications to keep us here. [She looks him up and down from head to toe, making careful note of the cut and crest of his uniform]. You're a student at Gekkoukan High School, are you not?

[ Ever since Chie's arrival and settling in (he's always been good at adapting to new situations), he's gotten into the habit of walking around with with a bag filled with supplies he'd take whenever they'd go to the TV World. Plus towels. Which he'll be glad for later when he spots a familiar person nearby. ]

...Naoto, is that you?

[ First Chie and now Naoto? What's with the kidnapping of people from back home? Not that he isn't glad to see them (quite the opposite really), but he doesn't like the idea of them being trapped here...to say the least. ]

[A great deal of tension left her muscles at the sound of that voice. Naoto turns and looks at Souji, thinking that things will make sense again.]

Ah, Souji, it's ...[She chews her words carefully]...good to find a familiar face. Do you know anything about our current whereabouts? [She notices the towels he has stacked away in the bag in his hand, and coughs slightly to hide her embarrassment]. Might I, perhaps, use one of your towels?

[ His look of surprise quickly returns to his normal smile once he realizes that, yes, another friend's here. ]

Well, to start off, this place is called Vatheon. But before I say more... [ He takes a large towel from the bag and hands it over to her. ] Of course. I always keep some around now in case something like this happens.

Vatheon? [Now that she has calmed down some - his presence has that strange ability to ease the strange and bizarre - she is able to think clearer] I can think of no cities with that name, and judging by the size and wealth, this is not an insignificant city. Do you know anything else? Perhaps the nature of these fairies or the phones we both seem to have?

[She takes the towel, but pauses, unsure of what to do next. As much as she would like to get out of her wet clothing, she is both in public, and doubly unwilling to do so in front of a friend. Instead, she tips off her hat and dries her hair, leaving it sticking up at all angles]. Thank you. [She looks at the towel now in her hands]. You carry this around in case people appear, wet and without warning? Does this happen often?
