Well this wasn't someone he'd expected to encounter. She looked like someone of his own time, just arrived given the wetness of her clothing. Given the presence of the pirates, he would need to wake her or at least carry her to safety.

Kenshin knelt down and nudged her gently on the shoulder. "Priestess, are you well?"

He glanced briefly to the side. So far, nothing was in sight, but he was certain that wasn't going to last very long. "My lady, we should move to a safer location. There are creatures near by which present quite a danger."

"There are malicious pirate ghosts about," Kenshin replied, offering a hand to bring her to her feet. "They are susceptible to elements yet even after defeat they return to attack once again."

"There are still pirates here?" She felt lost now. Three years had passed! She stared off for a second but she saw the hand and took it. "T-They were here before I left."

"Indeed they are," Kenshin replied with a nod. "They have been so for several days, though they have grown increasingly more malicious with each passing day."

She blinks and shakes her head really confused. She glanced down at the bow in her one hand. So her leaving, wasn't a dream. "They were pretty malicious before I left..." She blinks and shakes her head. "I must have been gone, only a few days then."

"Seems to be so," Kenshin agreed. He shifts at a noise, his hand wrapping around the hilt of his sword. "And I do believe they have us surrounded." He rose slightly to his feet. "Stay close, my lady." He pushed the katana from its sheath slightly in preparation to launch an attack.

She blinks and smiles at him. She saw his hand on his sword and her eyes widened. Grabbing her bow, she turned at another sound. "Oh, I guess so then. Uhh..okay."

"I shall clear a path for us," Kenshin informed her, taking a small step towards the now approaching creatures. He wasn't sure how well she could fight against them, but for now he would simply protect her. She didn't need to fight against them.

His blade almost invisible as he withdrew it. In a quick sweep, he sent ice darting towards the pirates, the attack proving quite effective. The soft-spoken Kenshin turned quite ruthless yet still with an elegant grace with a blade in his hands, determined to fell the creatures before him.

"This shall keep them at bay temporarily. A safe location is near by."

Kagome glanced at him but continued looking at everything. She reached behind her, and was glad to see that she had at least some of her arrows on her. Drawing on, she took a breath and let it go. If she could shoot the Sacred Jewel, than she can kill some pirates.

She glanced at him and watched the ice flow towards the pirates. After glancing at his face, she couldn't help but to shoot another arrow.

"I can fight."

She did have skill, he noted as he watched the arrow sail smoothly and accurately. Having someone fight along his side; that would be hardly something he could refuse. He would instead ensure she was caught up to speed with information.

"Alone the pirates pose little threat and are easy targets," he informed her. "In a group, however, they can be formidable. Do be mindful to avoid masses of them unless you are skilled with releasing several arrows at once."

She watched her Priestess Powers take out more than just one. She always had her friends at her side and she had no desire to fight by herself.

"Yeah they are," she smiled at him. "I'll try." she responded as she tried to make sure that she wouldn't run out of arrows.

"A strong ally you are," Kenshin smiled before turning to send another barrage of ice at the pirates. He was realizing how much he missed his men and Kasuga beside him. Fighting beside a friend felt much more natural.

She smiled at him. "I can say the same for you." She shoots some more arrows. She loved having her friends beside her but she was okay with fighting with others.

Fighting was always best with another beside him. A pair opened more options and allowed the two to defend one another, as one couldn't cover all possible sides of a battle.

"The path is clear," Kenshin noted. "We should advance while the opportunity presents itself." They had some time before the ghosts returned, which would give them some time to move closer to the safe house.
