Raenef blinked wearily as he strolled through the plaza. It had been a few weeks since he'd last touched the coral so he was a little out of it. Still, he was in a good mood, just not as upbeat as usual.

So when someone addressed him, he turned with a genial smile. Or at least he thought it was him. He couldn't be too sure. "You mean me?" He pointed to himself, just in case he was wrong. One look at the water dripping from his hair and Raenef beamed even wider. "Oh hi! You're new to Vatheon, aren't you?"

There was a pause as Raenef noticed the way the man carried himself. It kind of seemed like he was in pain. Concern spread over Raenef's features and he reached out to newcomer.

"Hey, mister. You don't look so good. Are you okay?"

"No. But it isn't life-threatening, so it can wait," Xun Yu answered frankly, but not without making the effort to use a pleasant tone of voice. "I am new here. I need your help."

"Are you sure? I mean... well, okay." The skepticism didn't disappear from his features. He was still unsure about the other guy's health but he didn't push it.

Instead, he put on a big, albeit somewhat sleepy, smile. "Sure thing! Everyone has questions when they get to Vatheon. So how can I help you?"

The concern was heartening; if there was simple kindness here, then there was hope. Xun Yu blinked slowly a moment later, at that response, furrowing his brow. Everyone had questions when they got to Vatheon? Then the implication was...

"This has happened before?"
