He was surprised he'd even found the note. It was such an archaic form of communication, but leave it to Shiki to find something endearing about it... especially since they lived next door to one another. Really, why couldn't she knock? Why couldn't she call if that was such a hassle? Something like this was asking to get overlooked, and yet

Frankly, Shiki found it really strange that Neku would just leave her a note saying that he was coming over to pick her up to show her something at his apartment. Besides the fact they lived next door to each other, she pretty much figured out that he was the type of person who doesn't beat around the bush. He was pretty straightforward, to a point that made the boy very abrasive to other people.

The knock on the door cut her train of thought short, focusing instead on checking who it was calling for her attention.

"Neku?" she said, tilting her head curiously at him. "Well, you're early..."

"Early?" he echoed, obviously surprised. Apparently the letter hadn't been sitting for long if she wasn't expecting him yet, but if that was the case... Why deliver it already? It's not like she had a long way to travel for it. Seriously, what the hell was with her all of a sudden?

"Well if you're not ready yet, I can come back..." It wasn't like he had anything else planned today, and... It wasn't like it was a long walk for him, either.

"Ah, n-no! I'm ready!" she stepped out of her apartment, closing the door behind her. This was getting weirder by the second. The note said that he was going to pick here up, right? Why was he acting so strange about this entire thing?

"Um, I got your note," she dug out a piece of paper that she tucked into her jeans pocket and showed it to Neku. "It said you'll be picking me up... You are doing that, aren't you?"
