It didn't take him long to finish up with the task he'd been involved in when he'd first responded to Genesis's message, though in all fairness, he could have just dropped it and finished what small amount had been left to tend to later, but there was no telling what might come of this meeting.
When he did arrive in the plaza, it took him but a moment to locate Genesis and head in his direction. Despite both his misgivings and hopes, he kept his expression impassive for the most part. Coming to a halt just out of reach of the redhead, he watched him silently for a second before greeting the man.
That ever so familiar presence was felt even before the voice reached him, piercing through the shadows of lingering memories and invoking something his mind dared to dream only in the dead of night. Genesis glanced up, a smile playing upon the corners of his lips. Sharp azures swept over the general's form, drinking in that impressive visage - and he knew then what he had always known - the real one paled in comparison to the ghostly night-time companion his shattered mind had conjured during his isolated years.
It had been so quick and simple to slip back into a former role, even as his new, darker self gently struggled to get fully comfortable in this guise. He found himself reveling in that stare, feeling perhaps, a little too smug of the fact that he betrayed nothing. There had once been a time when such an affirmation to a sly albeit tentative question would have delighted him to no end. What a pity it was, that this should happen once Genesis found himself uncaring of approval or any else pertaining to the General's good graces
