Mom and Dad are having one of those fights again. [The ones that'll go on all night and inevitably wind up with him caught in the middle even though he has no clue what the fight was initially about.

Which of course means he came with the intention of staying overnight. Anything to avoid a night of them bursting into his room asking for his "opinion" on the most inane thing and the blame put on him when the fighting continued.]

I'll stay out of the way. Promise. I even brought what's left of my homework to work on and a couple comic books. [And his toothbrush and school uniform for tomorrow.]
