I just dit a mini rewatch the other night. Everytime I watch the mini I feel sorry for the poor officer that gets the diplomatic duty at the remote spacestation. He seems so depressed, the way he walkes up to the desk. He's just worn out. I'm wondering if he has marital problems or if he just misses his family being that far away. I'm still planning on working out how to make them myself but I failed yesterday at the first step: making screenshots. Aparently my computer refuses to take pics from the dvd player. I had to take these pics from frakthat *headdesk*

The mini hasn't lost any of it's awesomeness! It yanks you right back into the whole bsg universe. If rl would have permit, I probably would have watched the whole series non stop after it.

I can't help but go; "I know that actor!" Every time the miniseries pops up somewhere on LJ. He was kind enough to tell me how taping the scene went down when he held a Q&A at my school.

I've always kinda hated the horrible old-age style makeup they did in this scene.

but Tricia Helfer makes up for it. God I love that woman. And that red dress.

edit: but I do love this opening scene. Its perfect. Sets up the series SO damn well. Probably one of the most effective series openers ever. You go back and watch it - and youre all 'yup, thats what it is'.
