NaNoWriMo: August!

Jul 31, 2008 01:19

Just dropping a line here to let everyone know I'm going to be doing NaNoWriMo this August.  Like the traditional National Novel Writing Month that takes place every November, the plan is to write a novel, no less than 50,000 words, in the month of August.

While I have completed this challenge twice (ironically, neither time in November), facing ( Read more... )

I've got a ton of writing to accomplish in August, so I'll be hitting the keyboard, too.

Good luck, Vash! Here, have a Legato for luck, too!

Once I start riding, I'm going to take a month to get into the routine, then, if I have time, I'll start another novel. The witch novel will be put off at least half a year. We'll see. Thanks for convincing me to do this; it's not if, but when.

Great to see you're jumping on the NaNo boat. I've found it to be a fantastically useful exercise (not to mention, at the end of the month you have a novel)

Love and Hugs :)

Why, yes, I am still alive, as a matter of fact. :p

For the third year in a row, I'm wishing NaNoWriMo (man, that's just fun to say) were in July, because August just doesn't work for me. I go back to college halfway through the month, and then all free time goes out the window. But I'm sure you can make it; you've always struck me as very dedicated to your craft.

Incidentally, will you be at Otakon again this year? If so, we should hang.

Sadly, this is the first year since 2001 I won't be at Otakon. I really wanted to go to DragonCon (BSG Cast Guests), so I'm going to be there instead. Any chance you're doing two gigantic cons this summer?

As to NaNo, usually I just pick a month that is convenient to me to do it. Until I went back to school, that was generally May. (if you do pick a month at random, I recommend months with 31 days) That said, because of DragonCon, I've lost something like four days on this month to get this done. So panic is already my friend.

Thanks for the vote of support!

Hugs :)

Sadly, DragonCon clashes with the first week of classes for me this year, so Otakon is the only con I'm attending. :(

It's a shame, but I can perfectly understand the siren-like allure of BSG guests. Hopefully we can catch each other next year!
