"So here is my question. What does friend mean to you?"
A friend is someone I love and hold in my heart. if I love them, i can go years without seeing them or getting to talk to them much, but i will still love them and trust them, and be there for them.
To me a friend is anyone who I would devote personal time and resources too. Someone who makes me happy whenever I am with them. Someone I trust with my feelings, thoughts, and in some cases my life. For those of us who have little family left friends are our family. So here is my question. What does friend mean to you?
I would agree with what you are saying right there. I consider a lot of the out of state people on my friends lists to be my friends based on how we interact. But around here. I think a friend is also the kind of person you interact with on a regular basis. Someone you hang out with a lot. Also a friend is someone who won't ditch you when you are down and out. Who won't stop being friends with you if you change for the better. I guess they would try their best to stick by you even if you turn for the worst. But some people can only take so much.
hint hint! I haven't called you in a while. In fact I have only spoke with you on the phone a handful of times.. I don't have your number anymore though, my old phone died and the I lost all the numbers. You are right though.
Hi Vasa. I got to you via the "Random " widget in my LJ and like what I read here. Hope you don't mind if a complete stranger whacks a comment in.
To me, a friend is someone I can always feel comfortable with. Someone to whom I don't have to endlessly explain myself. Someone who I can talk to without having to always guard my tongue. Someone who will listen when I need to talk. Someone who trusts me enough to talk when they need an ear. Someone with whom, if we haven't met for a long time, can just pick up the threads again with ease, as if we only spoke yesterday. There's bound to be more, but that is what springs off the top of my head.
