Aw, that's pretty awesome. I've never given blood. =( There's a blood drive happening at Curtin on Monday and Tuesday. I'm going to be at Curtin on Monday anyway for tennis at 7pm... would that work? =P
Best not to, as I think your game of tennis would be affected. As in, your play might be sluggish. Plus I'm pretty sure too much activity after giving blood can result in light-headedness, particularly after the first time.
We should give blood together some time and have a race with our flow rate (which I would completely win, heh)! :D
And good luck for the game. *waves Devi is a champion placard*
I got the squeezy ball too, but I think it was more for trying to raise my vein. In the end they had to wheel out the heat pack.
When they finally got the blood, it was going at 133mL per minute, and 30 is supposed to be good, right? The lady was all, "Oi, Linda, come and look at this!"
I can't believe how much I'm boasting about this. :)

apparently I have slow flowing blood. they always give me this squeezy ball to squeeze so I don't get stuck there for half an hour.
