Hi Rachel,
I think vamps will be around some, as you predict, but only if we keep reinventing them. I think the big issue is the balance of human emotions with vampire characteristics. If you know you have all the time in the world does this make love more precious, or do you expect that love will fade? And what happens when she's shopping for hip replacements and he's still a 20-something sex machine?

Great post, Rachel!! I love vamps. There is just something intriguing about them. I always have and always will. I don't think I'll ever get sick of them.:)

OMG LOVE the new avatar, Lucienne!

Great post! I love vampires, but although I can stomach different types of them, I do prefer it when vampires are actually, you know, vampiric. It'd be so much fun to see these creatures be more predominantly villainous again!

I am so over Vampires. slweippert October 12 2010, 02:53:40 UTC
Sick of them, actually.

Sorry Anita Blake, but I don't care anymore. Have not and most likely never will read any of the Twilight books. I was so glad that Rachel Morgan's latest boyfriend was another witch. If she found another vampire it was even odds I would have stopped reading the series. Sorry guys, but I'm bored.

Vampire overload? anonymous October 12 2010, 13:35:24 UTC
Great post - and something I have pondered while muddling through a vampire concept I've been playing with. I think there is something timeless about vampires, but as one reader commented, they need to be constantly re-invented. Cheesy vampires annoy me, and there's a lot of cheese in the book / TV world right now as everyone tries to cash in on the vampire bandwagon. But...if it's different, fresh, then yeah, I'm still cheering for the bloodsuckers.
