Harry Potter .. ?

Is it just me, or has this whole Harry Potter thing gotten out of hand? I remember way back when Harry Potter was comprised of a few shitty books that only a few stupid kids enjoyed. It made insulting their worth quite painless and easy - though with this new Harry Potter revolution, including: movies, action figures, coloring books, cartoons, ( Read more... )

I thought the giant spiders in the second one were pretty cool. Come on! GIANT SPIDERS!!! Who wouldn't love that!

You are close minded and ornery.

(But I still adore you.)

I don't know what spiders you speak of - seeing Harry Potter is against my morals.

I know you think you are clever, but lusting for a child doesn't make you funny or cool. It makes you a paedophile.

haha being that i love all science fiction and fantasy, i will have to disagree with you, and people who say harry potter is for kids, are fucking tools. Yes, the marketing strategy for corperations licensing harry potter prodcuts have aimed their sites on little kids, but damn, how can you criticise something without reading it... thats like saying, fuck the government, without knowing anything about the government, its totally assanine. I thought i would hate harry potter aswell, but i've read 1-3, before i saw the movies, and they aren't bad at all. I prefer to listen to the cd sets, and that way i can let my imagination run wild, and not be stuck with the image the movies put into your head. Damn kid, atleast read/see prisoner of azkaban... 3-4 are the best out of the whole series. 1-2 sucked, 5 sucks ^_^. But i mean, some of the shit they do in the book is wicked, now i doubt it will be potrayed on screen how it is in my mind, but i'm still going to see the movie. And i don't know where you come from, but harry potter was a ( ... )

The books are shite. They are stodgy, badly written, take fucking ages to get to anything interesting, and in major need of editing, each one worse than the last. And yes, I have read most of them - 1 to 4 anyway. I have number five but have not been able to face it yet.

I rather like the films (haven't seen the third one), but it really is kind of ridiculous the way adults run around being all wide-eyed with wonder over it. Oohing and ahhing over what is essentially - yes it is, they sell them in the children's section - a kids' series of books and films.

Hahaha the books being shite is your opinion, and yet you throw it around to be fact... I've read many books in my days, too many to count infact. And as i said, i prefer to listen to them rather that read them, its creates an imaginitve atmosphere that is truly rad.

Oh, my apologies. Let me rephrase that:

"The Harry Potter books are shite. This is a fact."

If you want to read something decent, try Artemis Fowl. Shits all over HP.
