An American Boy in Debt: How the Tragedy Happened

Basically I charged things when I made good money and now, because I don't make good money, I'm in dept over my head.  Simple enough.  That's probably how its happened to most Americans so I don't feel special, but I really don't like the whole "told you so" attitude.  How does one know that several ( Read more... )

True, but I didn't include my student loans that triple that amount (and are really there, in BIG print instead of fine print). ;) They'll kick in if I don't return to school in the fall.

But you're right. I could go bankrupt and my sister mentioned it but I'd rather not. So I'm looking into sitting down with the new (free) bankruptcy counselors and them tell me I can manage this. I have a job and am looking a second, so I'm not starving or poor. And I'm alive. The simple stuff, ya know, gets me through the harsh phone calls from debt collectors. (They are the meanest SCUM on this planet).
