STOP THE MADNESS

Hollywood has gone mad.

Making a Buffy movie that has nothing to do with the TV-series AND doing it without Joss Whedon?

I will burn this mother fucker down.

D:<

[Edit: to make matters even worse they're getting the freaking 'shitty japanese remake guy' to help them. Can't they just fucking call it Twilight 2000 instead of Buffy? God Damn it!]

Hollywood has been mad for a very, very, very long time.

You have no idea what you're talking about do you? The Buffy TV Series picked up about a year after where the movie ended plot-wise.

The TV Series is what made Buffy work though, and the characters *Joss* created (Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Angel, Faith etc.)

I think you are thinking of something else; Merrick got staked by Lothos with his own stake in the original movie. In the comic book he even stakes himself to protect Buffy from the potential emotional pain of him being turned into a vampire; he never got changed into a vampire though, stakes through the heart kill people too ;P

They're insane. The original Buffy movie wasn't that good from what I've heard and without Joss Whedon, who's actually going to see this new one? Most of the people who would see it are fans of the series and thus know about Joss Whedon's genius. If Joss Whedon isn't there and the movie is unrelated to the series in every way, how do they expect any fans to go see it?

Now you kind of know how I feel about Star Trek. But, with Hollywood doing just about nothing more than remakes, it is just the way it is. As the guy in Full Metal Jacket said, "They made a big sh*t sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a bite!" Like it, or not.

My reaction was quite similar...only I was at work and I shrieked "Fucking WHAT". An 'after the tv/comic book series' movie is a GREAT idea...but only if Joss is at the helm and he gets the cast!!!!
