Really? It was sunny and extremely hot (probably the hottest day so far) here!! x___X Actually Tanabata is one of the festivals that just pass without me noticing it. Well, this year we actually had a really tiny Tanabata activity at our school, but I've never seen colorful Tanabata bamboo "trees" :( :(
I knew the story already, though. Can't exactly remember where I heard about it originally, though :)
We get a special Tanabata school lunch so I always remember the day. And the trees along the street too. But this is the first year I've bothered to find out the origins.
what a beautiful post :) I have a friend whose bday is on July 7 and he's really into Japanese culture and foods. I will ask if he knows about this story :)
