I swear to God, this story kicked my ass, but hopefully I kicked it right back. Wow, that was lovely, such beautiful imagery and language. So creepy too, a real horror story, and John comforting himself with his 'leave no man behind' mantra that he knows is a lie... That was fantastically atmospheric.

I am itching to solve the mystery, and know I never will. Those really are the best horror stories, in my opinion: where there is no resolution or explanation, only the cold truth of what happened, and that it might (will) happen again.
