Leonardo had headed out the second after reading the island communication about the Fate making himself (wait, weren't they girls?) available. He had just the question to ask one of them and was hurrying so fast he had to hold onto his lil red cap to keep it from flying away.

When he came within view of the library steps he slowed down quickly and gaped. Was that a man or a woman? He'd thought- well he just was confused right now. He got closer. No it was a man, but like no man Leonardo had ever really seen.

"Good day, Signore...?" Have a confused but curious Leonardo smile.

TOO MUCH FAB IN HERE. guardingthreads July 26 2010, 07:01:30 UTC
Xephir was blissfully unaware of his androgynous look, really. Though he wouldn't be insulted if and when someone mistook him for a woman. Sadly, it was a common mistake. That didn't matter now, as he obviously had business to attend to.

With the greeting, Xephir hopped off the steps to greet the man, his overly decorated robes jingling with the even more dramatic bow he gave. When his head lifted, heterochromatic eyes focused on the equally fabulous painter addressing him.

"Good evening, it's a pleasure to meet you." His voice was smooth, though his somewhat shaky hand to his chest proved how nervous he might be. Get it together, Xephir, you've dealt with guests before, "My name is Xephir. Please, come inside and we may speak." he gestured to the door.

"Thank you so much!" Leonardo said in a chipper voice. He always loved the small courtesies, and was happy to be shown inside by the gaily dressed man. One would think it was Carnivale!

As they went indoors and towards some seating in a corner, Leonardo had to mention over his shoulder, "Your eyes are very amazing, I don't think I've seen such eyes before! If you don't mind my saying, they are very beautiful, Signore Xephir."

GAY BROKE THE TIMELINES. ALL OF THEM. guardingthreads July 26 2010, 07:20:02 UTC
Well, all his composure was gone with the compliment to his eyes. His cheeks lit up, and he nearly stumbled in surprise, but caught himself before the other man could notice. Falling on your face would not be a good first impression, one would think.

Was he speaking Italian? That accent was amazing. "Ah...th--thank you very much. They're nothing special." He was created with them, so he never thought much of it at all. If anything he thought the way they stood out made him look ridiculous. Of course the girly attire and equally girly face didn't make him look ridiculous. No.

He motioned now for the man to have a seat, settling down in his own and attempting to compose himself yet again.

"Now, messer da Vinci" God, he hoped he got that right, "What is it you wish to discuss?" besides you being THE Leonardo da Vinci and him being a ridiculous fanboy. He couldn't just freak out about it like he wanted to...that was kind of upsetting.

Firo had heard something about a Fate at the library. Since it wasn't the first one he'd encountered, he decided there would be no harm in checking it out. Maybe this one would give him more information instead of cryptic answers.

He was startled by the appearance of the Fate. His look was... certainly nothing Firo would see back home. Oh well, everybody on the island was strange; he'd have to get used to it.

"Um, 'ey?"

Well if they wanted answers, Xephir would be the one to give them...if he knew anyway. The other's liked to keep things mysterious and creepy. It was part of their look or something, he didn't know, nor did he really care. If he could help someone get off this island, maybe someone else would help him. Unlikely.

Either way, when Firo came along, Xephir turned his head with a smile, hopping down to greet him with a dramatic bow, and a flurry of robes.

"Good evening. Please, come inside so we may speak." And he motioned toward the door, opening it up so the other man could enter.

"Ah, thanks." He entered the building, wondering if he should've backed out. This man was easily the most strange looking person he'd seen on the island.

"So, I thought dere were only 3 Fates?" Maybe this one would be willing to give him some more background information on the Fates. He was curious as to how they worked.

Come on, he wasn't that bad. And at least he was willing to talk. Was his appearance really that weird?

"Well..." He started, closing the door behind him and moving to settle down in a chair. "I'm not exactly a fate like the sisters. I'm a guardian. It's my job to make sure the timelines don't get more corrupted than they already are. It's...complicated." He frowned.

Clotho took a moment to look around before closing in on her target. Okay, good, the coast was clear. No mortals were around, and she didn't sense any nearby at the moment, although she could feel the residues of their presence.

It wouldn't do to have anyone else around, after all she had an image to uphold. Well okay, not really but she wanted to mess with the "guests" some more.

Approaching from behind the figure (and really it was far too easy for someone who could manipulate time and fate to approach unawares) she contemplated for a moment before settling for a simple poke.

"Hello Xephir, still contaminating all of time with your gayness?"

guardingthreads July 26 2010, 18:50:52 UTC
You know, he probably should have seen or heard her coming. But he was too busy being overly worried about what his next encounter with a human would hold. So far it had been going...all right.

Or it would have been if Clotho hadn't showed up. and when he was poked, he let out a yelp so girly he probably turned into a woman for all of half a second. He spun around quickly, making sure not to fall all over his robes in the process.

"Clotho!" God dammit, "You know my sexual orientation has nothing to do with that! What do you want?"

You know, if she wasn't an (almost) all knowing Fate and conducted herself with more decorum, she would have burst into laughter over Xephir's little yelp. He was really far too easy.

Nodding sagely Clotho whipped out her Mysterious I Know More Than You grin #7 (now with added I'm Better Than You). Xephir hated that one, so of course she had to use it.

"You would be surprised what can contaminate a timeline. Why, you were the first person here. You may very well be the cause for all the contamination everywhere."

Except he wasn't but that was okay. Reverting to a more casual facial expression, Clotho waved her arm cheerfully and poked the man (and she used the term loosely here) again.

"Do I need a reason to visit my favorite little time guardian?"

AKA she just wants to mess with you, Xephie-poo.

If he was a violent man, he would want to punch her in the face. Instead he was pouting like a five year old in response to her teasing, and her pompous little grin.

"S-Shut up!" She knew he worried about that every damn day he was here. Of course he thought it was his fault, why did she have to rub it in?

He sighed, rubbing at his temples lightly, "No, I suppose not. but whenever you decide to visit I end up with a headache. ...or in tears." there was another pause, then;

"Don't you have better things to do? Like creeping out the humans and pretending you don't know anything? That's really cruel, you know."

Even though she had her reservations, her curiosity - such a human trait - drove her to head to the library. Talk of the Fates sounded far too like the polytheistic faith of the vast majority of Colonials and she believed in her God and his path for her above all else. But if the Fates had here here, it would be to her advantage to find out what they knew about who she was and, more importantly, if they knew what she was.

Still, finding out more wouldn't hurt so she hurried up the steps of the library, taken aback more than she would have liked by the place. Everything was so different to the last truly civilised world she'd known; Caprica before the Fall of the Colonies had been sleek modern lines and she'd been far too occupied with the Colonial Defenses to really care too much about history.

Perhaps if she found herself here for long enough she'd take the time to learn more but right now she had more pressing matters on her mind as she glanced about for any signs of this Fate, whomever they might be.

"Hello?"

Xephir had been in and out of the library a few times by now, and just so happened to be walking back out for a breath of air when the woman spoke up. And he nearly had a heart attack from surprise. Geez, people we just popping up left and right today, maybe he was actually doing a good job for once. Even if the sisters told him otherwise.

With a hand to his chest, Xephir spun around, greeting the woman first with a look of surprise, then with a small smile. "Ah, hello, Caprica." he bowed, once again, in an over-dramatic fashion, "I assume you've come to see me, correct?" oh...unless she just wanted to get into the library.

Possibly for the first time since she'd arrived on the island, a look of genuine shock crossed Caprica's face. Had he really just called her that name? How the frak did he know that?

"I'm sorry but what did you call me?"

She had indeed come to see him but she still couldn't get over hearing the name that had been given to her by her fellow Cylon when they'd begun to regard her as a hero amongst their race.

Xephir blinked, wide-eyed and confused by the response. Had he said something wrong?

"...Would you prefer Six?" That probably wasn't going to help the problem he had already created in knowing her name.

Kazushi had been about to make another journal when he saw the notification that there was a Fate in the library. He hadn't visited the library yet. He wasn't a big fan of books. Sitting around for hours trying to read was not his idea of a good time. But he knew which building the library was, and he definitely wanted to ask the Fate about the very sudden and surprising change in his roommate.

He had been so excited that he had almost left without telling Kenji. "Come on!" he exclaimed, grabbing Kenji's hand and dragging him out the door, "We can finally ask about what happened to Mr. Edgeworth!"

Kenji allowed Kazushi to drag him all the way to the library, despite the fact that he could really care less about talking to another fate--much less one that wasn't female. Once they arrived, he huffed a sigh of annoyance and tossed open the door to the building, holding it open for his friend to get inside first. "Maybe we should have brought Edgeworth.."

Xephir was inside, yet again, having just finished speaking to someone else when he heard the voices approaching the building. There were...two of them this time? Please don't be mad at him if he stumbled all over himself and couldn't answer questions.

He peeked around a corner once they had entered, "Hello?" Wait, why was he the one saying hello like that? He had an ima--no he didn't have an image at all.

"Can I help you?"

sportstape July 26 2010, 20:21:52 UTC
Kazushi was a little surprised. This man couldn't be the Fate. The Fates came from Greek mythology, right? He had expected some bearded man in a toga.

"I hope you can help me!" he said. His voice seemed to echo around the otherwise silent library. Oops. He brought his voice down a little and asked, "Uh... you are the Fate, right? The one who said he'd answer some questions?"
