it's the weekend

I hate the weekend. it sucks, it just totally sucks. there's nothing to do and no one to see, okay I'm being hyperbolic, there IS stuff to do and people to see, just not the same things and people as on weekdays. I like school. I like going to class and seeing my classmates and talking to my professors and eating in the cafeteria. it feels normal. ( Read more... )

I feel a bit like that, but not on the weekend, but the holidays! On the weekends, I have stuff to do, but these huge mega three months holiday... I just wanna go back! Things are more normal, and you don't have to put effort into socialising :P

That is really scary about the neighbours though.

I go about my days totally happy and blissful, and completely ignorant of what may be going on upstairs every night for an hour between six and nine p.m.
Well... what you write seems to indicate the opposite. You obviously care, because you've posted so much about it, tried to do something, and you feel pretty shitty over it too. a selfish piece of human trash not worth living or being happy... that ain't sound happy and blissful to me ( ... )

I am laughing my fucking ASS off right now, and I am so sorry...I JUST finished taking social psychology last semester, and our very last chapter before the final was Helping/Prosocial Behavior. So I know alllllllllll about the bystander effect and diffusion of responsibility, and I am very familiar with the story of Kitty Genovese. I actually get all this playing through my mind while the noise upstairs is going on, and I wonder how much I, and my neighbors, am actually confirming those hypotheses. And I hate it because that just makes me feel even more guilty. You know--I'm not ignorant and so therefore should be more able and willing to act--thing is, I'm not. And it sucks. I'm going to talk to Dr. Hall (social psych and RMS prof/advisor) about it tomorrow and maybe he can help me.
