After stopping in at the cafeteria, Bod didn't immediately head to his room. Instead, he stopped in Kate's door, frowning.

"...Kate?" he asked carefully.

Kate kept stuffing her bag with clothes and random other things. Her movements were agitated. "I can't stay."

Bod blinked at that being the first thing out of her month. He stayed in the doorway. "Where are you going to go?"

"Home," she said, though it was obvious from tone alone that hadn't been her first choice. "I'll tell them there's... a rat infestation at the castle or something."
