Ugh. Long workdays due to delayed flights were horrible. Made all the more horrible by a seemingly endless stream of increasingly annoyed and annoying customers. Seriously, it was ridiculous how far the general mood could plummet. Kate's cheeks were practically aching from the all the smiling she'd forced herself to do

"Did you have a long day?" asked Bod, coming out of the kitchen and brushing his hair out of his eyes. It was getting long again. "Everything all right?"

"Flights were delayed and people were assholes," Kate whined, although she sounded like she was mostly over it by now, and just whining because she finally could. "Stupid day."

"Sounds difficult," Bod said, tilting his head and smiling. "Can I get you anything?"

There was no reason to draw that word out. She did it anyway.
