She was using it productively - no, really! - by looking at ads for apartments for rent in the general Kansas City area. And Mitchell... was standing outside wearing shades and knocking on the door, a Portalocity tax-free shopping bag in his hand.

It took Kate a short moment to realize she'd heard something, too stuck in reverie to be paying that much attention to anything else. But eventually she did, and bounced out of the kitchen and to the front door, which she promptly opened.

Then grinned. "Mitchell! Hi!"

Kind of a tackle hug: incoming.

"Oof!"

That was a totally exaggerated 'oof', just so you know. Mitchell grinned back, wrapping his arms around her to give her a firm hug back. "Hey, Kate."

She'd already kind of said that. Didn't matter.

"It is so weird to see you here. I mean I know you've been here once before but still."
