A continuation of the prompt “The Covenant, Caleb/Chase, Chase didn’t Use at the pool” as started with Too Close to Call
Because as the title of my LJ suggests, I really do have a one-track mind…. )

Dude, dude, dude! This is what I wish the movie had done. It's just so much more compelling and awesome.

The trouble with translating something like this to film is, so much of it is internal that it wouldn't come across without things like flashbacks or voice-overs. (Thank god for fannish imaginations, eh?)

I'm delighted by your enthusiasm. I've been contemplating a longish tale of nice-guy Chase but wasn't too sure if there was any audience for it. Of course, that's in addition to about five other projects I want to write and doesn't include sundry prompts that may catch my attention. This one dovetailes nicely with the other ideas I've had, so thanks for giving me the impetus to actually do the necessary groundwork and show how Chase becomes part of the group.

You'll have at least an audience of one, for sure.

Audience of two, at the least! (just drop me a pm or something).

This was so, so good. It's making me want to pop in the dvd and re-watch this movie again. I'd love to know how the guys will welcome a newcomer, someone who's actually more in tune with the power.

now he feels older and wiser, ready to give the support he didn’t have.

oh YES!

Oh goody! I do have more plottiness in mind, and I'll definitely keep you informed.

I like the idea of Chase as a good guy, who has self-control as well as control of his powers. Chase may have more experience with his powers, which he's mostly had to figure out on his own, but I think for all his charm, he's been something of a loner his whole life. Meanwhile the Ipswich Four have had those chronicles so they knew what was coming, and they have that bond. So they've all got a lot to learn from each other.

(Not that Seb Stan doesn't do wicked gloriously, I just love the thought of a reunited Five Sons.)

I'm going to work on the meeting at the barn, but if you're interested, I've got another 'verse posted on my LJ, which is a bodyswap between Chase and the Winter Soldier.

Wait. Just did some wiki'ng. I obviously haven't rewatched the movie in too long. SEBASTIAN STAN played Chase??? As in MAD HATTER??! And he played BUCKY BARNES as well?!!!!!

Why. If I'd been aware of this I'd have jumped on the Captain America bandwagon ages ago.

No wonder we don't have no more Mad Hatter at ouat... *grumblegrumble*

LMAO. I didn't get into CA until well after the first one came out. I kept hearing Cap/Bucky everywhere, didn't pay that much attention, then I finally made a point of seeing The First Avenger because I have A THING for Neal McDonough (Dum-dum Dugan) and I found out he was in it. And yeah, there was all that subtext everybody was talking about, and I enjoyed it enough to see The Winter Soldier and my ovaries exploded. It took me a while to actually start writing anything, but now I'm happily immersed in it all, and my enthusiasm for Sebs has hit critical mass. I've got it bad....
