Just renewed ours and it was over $200. Ouch!! Got driver's license a few weeks ago~ what a fiasco! It's like standing in line for a concert. Took up a good 2 hour chunk of time. No more appointments.

Wish you could have done the dog sitting gig for us~ it would have paid handsomely.

I'm sorry too---not just about the money. That poor dog.

I've heard horror stories about the DL renewal process. I'm not looking forward to it, but I look forward to having it DONE.

It wasn't the cost of the driver's license renewal but the time~ hints: get there early~ they don't open until 8:30 but I was there at 8 am. You get in line by the door~ then, when they weed out the driving test folks, you get ushered in and get a number. From there on, it's extremely efficient.

I'm not worried about the waiting---I have a lot more time than money, and I can take a book. The money, though---THAT'S a problem.

I honestly think it was the chicken, although I'm sure the agita didn't help. But hey, at least I don't have a shit-stupid ex-huspand to contend with!

Yeah. I understand the general idea behind that saying that if money will solve a problem, it's not really a problem. Because money alone won't buy health or happiness, it won't cure addiction or erase past traumas. But NOT having money is a problem in and or itself, and finding honest ways to pay the bills can be a real challenge....
