Clothes and compliments

After church yesterday, I went to J's for more LOST (We've seen the first 12 eps) and side-tripped by way of Fashion Bug for some browsing.

I didn't got home to change first, so I had on what I wore to church: A brown tank top with brown bugle bead embellishment around the softly ruched neckline above a print shirt. This skirt---

Thanks. It's hard-won knowledge; for the longest time, I thought if I could skin into it, it "fit". Of coursse, in those days, I'd wear anything that "fit", no matter how horrific. dreadfulflorals, bullet-proof double-knit pants with seams stitched up the front, baggy and/or shapeless. And if, by chance, I *did* get a compliment, I'd demur: "Oh, this old thing...?" nowadays, I just smile and say "Thank you!".
