I'm trying not to eat everything in sight. It's difficult. Restraint is not in my nature. I like food, and unfortunately, I tend to regard the major food groups as sweet, salty and fried. I'm trying to get away from that, but again, it's a struggle

I've gained about seven pounds since my Mom died, which sent the scale into the OMG! zone. The other day I had a stern talk with myself about not trying to fill holes in my soul with food. It is really hard, though.

I'm pretty good about eating it when I pack it for lunches. Remembering to eat it on weekends and over vacations is a different story, though having a small child who needs fruits for lunch and snacks does help a bit...
