I'm trying not to eat everything in sight. It's difficult. Restraint is not in my nature. I like food, and unfortunately, I tend to regard the major food groups as sweet, salty and fried. I'm trying to get away from that, but again, it's a struggle ( Read more... )

Restraint is most definitly not in my nature when it comes to chocolate ice cream, and Andrew has an almost full two liter of mocha fudge in the deep freeze. NOOOO! Must. Not. Eat. :D

I've been patting myself on the back because I got some coconut icecream on Friday, and there's still some left. What I'm really craving, though, is something with enoughsalt to make my ankles balloon. (No, no, no!)

The hat sounds lovely and if you get involved in working on it and being creative, you won't have hands free to eat. *hugs*

I've gained about seven pounds since my Mom died, which sent the scale into the OMG! zone. The other day I had a stern talk with myself about not trying to fill holes in my soul with food. It is really hard, though.

Good point about crafting as a dsitraction. Last night, I turned to my stack of magazines and winnowed through a few looking for recipes and whatever.

I'm sorry about your mom; that's a big hole in the Universe, even if you weren't in the same reality much.

Ooh, I love thumbing through a nice stack of magazines. It's the only fun part of going to the dentist. :)

I've got a few scrapbooks going---looseleaf notebooks with sheet protectors.

There's The Retro House, The Other House, My Wedding Plans, My Secret Identity, and recipes. "My Secret Identity" has things like clothes and shoes and bling and other pie-in-the-sky type stuff.

*nods* I try to keep from having that stuff in the house. As I am too lazy to go out and buy any, there's therefore no temptation!

I'm trying to make better choices, rice cakes instead of potato chips, for instance. Still need more fresh stuff, though.

I'm pretty good about eating it when I pack it for lunches. Remembering to eat it on weekends and over vacations is a different story, though having a small child who needs fruits for lunch and snacks does help a bit...

Get some of the sea salt caramel Ghiradelli crack that you've gotten me hooked on! ha ha FYI- they now sell it at our Publix. I think I let out a squee of delight when I found it there last Friday. Life's simple pleasures!

I'll keep that in mind, but at the moment, I've got enough post-Valentine candy in my chocolate stash to last til Easter.

Not according to the USDA...of course, *they* think ketchup is a vegetable.

Ergo, is the ketchup not a smoothie then?

LOL! That's brilliant. Between that and lettuce being "crunchy water", I'm fast developing a whole new way to think about vegetables.

And I needed the laugh, thanks.
