There's no place like home---!

Feb 05, 2012 23:40

Got a call from PJ literally two minutes after turning my alarm off. (8:02 AM) Alarming news: They were off the boat, on the road, and expected to be home by noon. Going by what I know of cruises, I hadn't even expected them to be off the frackin' boat before 11 ( Read more... )

Very happy about the glasses. Now that I have them, I'm going to get the new scrip put in my old frames so I'll have a back-up pair. I may also give in and get reading glasses, and maybe sunglasses, because these are way too thick to attach clip-ons to.

I did Snoopy dances when I got on the scale this morning. It's ridiculous to get so excited about a mere number, but I did! I'm not trying to be a supermodel or anything---I'm a little past that!---but I'll be very happy when I'm out of the "morbidly obese" category and am down to just plain FAT.

I have always thought cole slaw is a terrible thing to do to defenseless cabbage; if an atrocity is going to be committed on that veg, I much prefer sauerkraut

Oh, I don't know, I have a few cole slaw recipes that seem to be popular...

I adore Lush, though I had to stop buying it as I am getting obsessive these days about toxins in my cosmetics. LUSH is better than most companies, but I'd still love them to stop using parabens. phthalates (sp?) and such. The Big Blue bath bomb was my fave, and I'm almost tempted to buy a few and use them anyways. *resists*

And yays for the poundage lost. I am happy to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight, that's for sure!

I adore LUSH solid shampoos, New in particular. It lasts and lasts (unless you let it sit in a puddle of water---NOT good). I'd probably try more of their products, but until I can find a tub that clears my hips and/or has a grab-bar, bombs aren't gonna do me any good. Shower stuff, tho', is still primo.

Congrats on getting back down to your original weight, I understand that's very difficult.

Ah yes, I am fascinated by their solid shampoo....though for the record I haven't used ANY shampoos regularly in years...I 'wash' with conditioner, odd as that may sound. Very necessary for a curly girl, however.

Congrats on getting back down to your original weight, I understand that's very difficult.

Thank you! It probably helped that I didn't gain that much (relatively, anyways) during pregnancy. Add hauling 30 pounds of toddler everywhere, walking part-way to work, and working out 2x a week, and I was pretty sure I'd eventually get all the weight off.

Also Starhubby needs to lose weight himself, and so we are not snacking so much at night, which I'm sure also helped/ will help.

Was with conditioner? Wow, I'm that much closer to having heard everything. I usually eschew conditioner. If I did it your way, my hair would be a limp mess after the first week. I have a fairly oily scalp.

Never tried the Lush products. My former employer now has a business called Beach Organics~ all natural and organic products. Big price tag, though, so I've never tried them , either.
Original weight~~ what's that? I've yo-yoed so many times that I don't even know what my original weight was!! ha ha

Ever notice how the "better" stuff is always more expensive? Like, why do low sodium products cost more? Why does it add to the price NOT to add salt?

Original weight meaning pre-pregnancy weight of the gal who posted. Me, I know what you mean about ups and downs. My all-time high is about 100 pounds ago, my average for the last 10/15 year is more like 55-60 pounds ago, but right now, as long as it begins with a "2", I'm happy. Although another 20 pounds down and I'll squeak out of the "morbidly obese" category.

Yeah, I'm going to get the new scrip set into my old cat's-eye frames for that reason. And may end up with a pair of John Lennon glasses for readers or sunglasses.
