Y'all will be glad to hear than I finally nailed down a pair of glasses this morning! My gal from church came through: I not only found some frames that I could live with, Mb, who was with me, got a pair, too

Hip-hip hooray! I will def make an appt to go and see her. Her exam can't be that much and then I can do one stop shopping. I am like MB~ not too picky- just need to be able to see!! We have an allowance here at work that I am told can be for optical or dental and I am going to find out if it's interchangeable~ if so, I'll get some specs before a teeth cleaning.
There's a fair selection of economy frames. Most of them are on the two tables they'll show you, but check around the perimeter, there are a few there, too.
Mb can wear regular plastic, I can't. Therein is a big part of the resolution right there. But hey, I'm happy for her---she's been going through a lot because of XSO, so I'm glad she caught a break.
YAY! As someone who is virtually blind without glasses and currently juggles a pair of reading-only and a pair of progressives, I feel any and all glasses-related issues.
Yup. Sounds like we're both memebers of the "I need my glasses to find my glasses" club. I've been squinting like a mole, or, since I know you of all people will catch the referrence, squinting like Vanderbilt.
I'm really relieved that it's done with---the search has been arduous, and freaked me out a little---I've been noticing glasses on TV since this began, and the other night, someone on Hoarders was wearing the exact pair of glasses I'd nearly gotten at Sears.
Now I just have to be patient until they arrive....
