A little LESS fluffy, which is not a bad thing

After the food pantry this morning, I stopped in at Publix. They have a scale in the lobby---none here, and I've gotten used to keeping tabs. Now, things have see-sawed over the last few months, but of late, it's been under 300. Not a whole lot, but still, under ( Read more... )

You have PUBLIC scales? Vow. I am pretty sure we have them only at doctor's office and in the shops that sell such things.
And talking about that, has you car also shed any weight?

Public scales aren't as common in the U.S. as they used to be, but when I was growing up, all sorts of places had them, especially post offices and government buildings. I suppose the idea with having them in the lobby of the post office was that someone with a large package could weigh themselves holding it and then not holding it, and do the math to come up with an accurate idea about postage.

Now, when you mention this, I seem to remember something similar in our post offices when I was but a wee thing... I assume the principle was the same.

YAY YOU! I'm desperately hoping that my next encounter with the EVIL SCALE GOD will give me that one more pound I'm slight obsessed with. (How's that for an oxymoron.)
