I got two loads of laundry done---one of which was a giant comforter. The other was pillows, which I had to wrestle out of the washer, because they puffed up when wet. They're destined for the guest bed. Actually, I washed four pillows; they all started out limp and flat ( Read more... )

I'm planning to give the reciept to my friend GK, as she's going to be paying for my RenFest ticket and meals while we're on the road and probably anything I drool over while thrifting.

But I'm sure there will be more loads after this one (still plenty of lcutter left, alas!), and I'll tuck those reciepts into my drawer for future deductions.

Hmm, you two are still going thrifting? Some boxes could sneak abroad and totter to those stores, could they not? Just a thought...

Vinegar! Time to smell the vinegar and confront the bathrooms!
You can get tax reduction from donating clothes there? Vow!

Charitable gifts can be deducted, but they have to be to non-profit entities and you have to have the reciept.

Before I break out the vinegar, I need to pick up the magazines and the little cardboard toilet paper rolls....

Yes, we have the similar policy, however, only about monetary donations. All the things given, like clothes, or usable home machinery ... nothing about that, as far as I am aware.
I`d say focus on the guest bathroom, sit on the toilet with a trashbag in hand and fling the rolls in. Mags can go to a box to be rifled through later, in order to extract the bits you would like to keep.... That is what I do with my mags and newspapers, most of which end up in the stove.

Wow! Did you ever think three weeks ago that you'd have so many rooms whipped into passable shape? GO FLUFFY!

I'm so proud you used the fluff and re-stuff trick for your pillows. *hugs*

I don't know how many pillows she usually sleeps with, but I'm certainly prepared.

I'm glad you shared that technique with me; I don't think it would ever have ccurred to me. (Cut open a pillow?! Horrors! That's an even bigger crime than tearing off the "Do not remove" tag!)
