That has to be frustrating. I know that shit like that always pisses me off. Glad to hear that you are weathering through it though...

Yeah, I could have done without that shit, but I'll keep on truckin'.

Oh, I'm glad it's working again! Maybe there was a power blip, or it could be that the coils need the dust/lint to be vacuumed off.

And wonderful about finally getting through to unemployment and the continued birthday goodness.

IDK what happened, but since that fridge dates approximately to the Gerald Ford administration, I think it's time to begin considering a successor. Freecycle, here I come!

All week, I'd call, it would say there was a "higher than average" call volume and hang up on me. So I was really startled to get through on my first attempt on Saturday. (Sat on hold for 45 minutes, but---whatever.) Knock wood, between that, and what I make house-sitting for S, I'll be at least nominally caught up.

Birthday goodness continues---got a bag o' goodies from AI this morning at church. And next week I've got my movie with BC to look forward to, as well as the delivery of my DVDs from Amazon. AND I am still nibbling away at that licorice, which really is the best I've ever had---thanks again!

Yay! for things turning out better and scoring a delicious chicken.

I've always heard wonderful things about Australian licorice and pounced when I found that bag. :) Maybe next time I'll find some strawberry-flavored for myself.

Do you have household insurance? If so, check to see if the ruined food is covered under your plan. I think if power goes out due to weather or some such it can be covered, so check and see before you write it off.

Hope things improve! Happy birthday, anyhow!

I'll look into it, but I'm not holding my breath. I don't think "vintage refrigerator" is covered as an act of God.

Thanks! Otherwise, I haven't gone completely to seed....

Ok, ignore my question in the end of my email, then. Caught up with your life herein!
And damn, your luck looks like mine. And foreverhermit's for that matter. In big things it always seems to go like that.

I'd like to bitch-slap whoever it was that said "Problems that can be solved with money aren't really problems." The dumbass obviously has more money than good sense, because what if you don't HAVE money? THAT'S A PROBLEM. But I have money coming to pay the bills, and enough on hand to take care of urgent necessities like bathroom tissue. It's good....
