I remember that I was coming from my babysitting gig at the time and went over to Wurstkitty´s place for... something. The first thing she told me when she opened the door for me was that someone had flown a plane into the WTC tower. I gaped and the next few hours we sat by her TV (she had already a cable which showed many so-called sky channels); her mother in the other room by her TV set. We watched CNN and she BBC. I remember the complete feeling of surreality seeing the icon "Live" blinking in the corner of the TV screen. And we all remember the front pages of the newspapers the next day.

At this time of year, it's being rehashed extensively on TV...and next year being the 10th anniversary, it'll probably be even more intense.

Uh-oh, yes. True.
I still remember the constant repetations from loudspeakers in the Chicago airport how the security level was orange. I had a huge thirst for oranges in the end.
