The combination of a long back and athletic nature causes many corgis to rupture discs in their spines. Rocket did that and was lucky he wasn't paralyzed as a result of it.
"The Stand" was really great television, even with Jamey's mullet. Those were the days, which really haven't ended around here. I was in the gas station the other morning and the guy in line next to me had a very neat business-type haircut around his entire head below the line covered by a ball cap. From the crown of his head to that line, he had long, flowing locks. I can only imagine he puts his hair up on top of his head and hides his weekend hair under the cap. It was quite something!
The really ironic thing is, I HAVE The Stand on DVD and haven't watched it. I saw it as a TV event back in the day, and more recently found it in a bargain bin somewhere.
It was! I really enjoyed watching the whole parade...although the number of toy dogs being pushed in strollers was disturbing. As J said, "There go our potential clients!"---since it's that kind of kow-towing that creates monsters.
