For the gift exchange the last Christmas I was at the medical billing company, I was fortunate enough to be assigned to the best-dressed gal in the office---IE, someone with fabulous taste, for my Big Gift. One of the things I put on my list for "likes" was leopard print, and she got me a fantastic throw with spotted faux fur on one side and ( Read more... )

Hey! I have that throw, too! Got it at Pottery Barn. Super warm. Glad you have a way of keeping warm in the frigid climes that are Florida. :)

Maybe you could winnow the dirty laundry down to one load of absolute essentials and take that to the laundromat, and possibly handwash some undies and hang them to dry in your bedroom.

Next week is really supposed to warm up a bit. It won't be a minute too soon for me. I've been wearing turtleneck jerseys under my heavy sweaters and rotating between the two thickest pairs of wool hiking socks I own. The ice is finally melting off the roads today. The people who live down the hill from us haven't been able to leave home since Friday night because the road is low and shaded. It was a solid sheet of ice yesterday.

Yup. I'm also doing the "multiple layers" thing, and am trying to figure out what to wear to church tomorrow that's warm without being disreputable.

The worst part is, because I'm cold, I'm hunching my shoulders, and because I'm hunching my shoulders, I'm having muscle spasms if/when I move my arms "wrong". I took a muscle relaxer...that knocked me out for four hours.

I'm gonna make a gigantic assumption and guess you're in Ohio because that's where your folks are...?

With me, it was the other way around---I was the youngest child, and never left the nest. Ended up inheriting it, which isn't the worst outcome....
