Hurrah! for selling that bag, and yah! for the shoes.
I've been online trying to find a good source for used textbooks, having just spent an entire paycheck on the boy's books for the fall semester. Jeeze, academic publishers have a racket going that the Mob would admire.
It's true. It's always been true. College textbooks are the biggest racket going. I've heard of students checking them out from the library for the semester to avoid buying them. Even the "workbooks" are obscenely expensive. Good luck with that!
I think I'd be way better off to buy an Amazon Prime subscription and shop on-line, just from the comparison shopping I did today. The school attempts to discourage this by not putting book titles or ISBNs on the course sign-up sheets and not putting the books out until two weeks before the semester starts.
Next semester, though, I'm assigning the boy to do some detective work and bring me those ISBNs. Books were not cheap when I was in college, but I about fainted when I saw an $85 price sticker on the same English handbook I used in 1981.
Also, wow, 1300 bucks for a bag...on sale? I don't care much for Prada bags, actually, or Coach. I found a teal blue bag with silver studs on it that I squeed out loud for the other day at Macy's that was like 100 bucks, that is about as far out there as I go, LOL!!! I didn't get it though, gotta pay Verizon before they shut me off. Urgh.
Leverage is a totally fun way to spend time on a Wednesday evening. I prefer to set my timer so I can watch Criminal Minds, then watch Leverage and fast-forward through the commercials.
The teal and silver bag sounds gorgeous, but I agree that continued communication trumps it. $100 for a GOOD bag is a decent price. Fossil is usually in that ballpark (and their watches are top quality, too.), and Wilson's Leather has nice bags to suit tastes from the flamboyant to the classic.
I have been trying to cancel my Fluevog order since I got laid off- I could do without spending $50 on shoes right now and they haven't charged my debit card yet...however, I can't get anyone to answer the phone!!!! Not a soul. Oh, well. Guess it will be fun to get a surprise when they arrive.
