Alive and...well....

Just had an email from a member of my f'list who was worried that I haven't posted in a few days. I haven't deserted you all or kicked the bucket (unless, of course, ouiji boards have gotten a lot more technological since the last time I checked). I don't have any issues with anybody, I haven't eloped with JDM, I'm not on life support---just ( Read more... )

"Dick and Jane grow up" -- that's really funny! Alas, it's true, though. Much of adult life is really boring.

I spent yesterday shuttling the boy to the doctor and the dentist (poor kid has to have all four wisdom teeth out on Friday), cleaning house and doing laundry. For real excitement, we went to Big Lots for canned goods and trash bags. :D

Big Lots?! Wow, that's serious fun! I keep meaning to get over to my local, because they usually have the twin staples of canned soup and pop tarts, but somehow, I just never got that particular party started.

I have a couple of the Dick and Jane readers...they're great for nostalgia when the 21st century is too fraught.

All four at once?! *winces* Poor kid's gonna look like an overfed chipmunk. I had mine done on an "as needed" basis---I still have the upper right one.

Big Lots is so much fun when I have a little mad money to spend, but the only thing we splurged on was pack of chicken jerky for the dog.

The kid has no room whatsoever for these teeth to come in without wrecking eight years of orthodontic treatment, so they all have to go. I'm hoping he'll be okay within a week, what with the resilience of youth.

Mine all had to come out when I was 36 and it was a rather ghastly experience.

I think I would have considered fooling around with Robert Mitchum had I been born in that era-- what a hunk of man!!
I love the movie where he plays the villian in the original "Cape Fear." Gives me goosebumps!!

That was the movie that turned me on to him, too.
