Earworms

What does it say about my subconscious that for the last several mornings, I've awakened with the chorus to the Beatles "Just Another Day" crooning in my ear? (So sad, so sad...sometimes she feels so sad....) Then, when my day gets going, it's replaced by the melody from that maudlin Barillo picolini bowtie pasta commercial. Go figure.

I've had -- can't even remember the name of the song -- "What's your thang? Say what you wanna do." in my head the past two days. I'd swap your for the Beatles!

...I know somebody uses that as the background music for a commerical, but I'm darned if I can remember for what.

Here's a website where you can look up music used in television commercials. (Yes, yet another place to waste time on the internet! )

Awesome! (Now if I could just find a place that lists who does the voiceovers, I'd be set....)

It's called "It's Your Thing" by the Isley Brothers- circa 1969.
LOVE it! "It's your thing, do what you wanna do...."

Kudos to you! I know it's being used in a commercial for something or other. ("Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce is being used to hawk anti-aging creme, and every time I see that commercial, I mumble to myself that that "old" model wasn't even born when Jim Croce died...unlike myself.)

Okay, I've been wrong before. And it probably won't be the last time.

I know it's a small point, but given the perceived decline in Paul's song-writing post-Beatles, it's worth making. (And I did warn for bitchy music pedantry.)

But here's a fandom!secret I think you'll like.

Woohoo! Jailbait fangirls for Bobby!

I've IMDb'ed it: He's barely 10 years older than I am, and I regard that as perfectly fine, since there was 11 years between my parents and they had a long and successful marriage. *smirk*

I wake up with songs in my head all the time. Songs also invade when I'm trying to fall sleep... frequently songs in other languages. I don't know why my brain works this way. Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is I sympathize. :)

During one semi-lucid dream, I realized I had a soundtrack. I also have montages....

Oh, one of those "Flavor of the Month" stations? That's one of the reasons I don't listen to radio anymore. That, and the incessant commercials. It's been about five years since I last listened on a regular basis, and then only because the car I was driving didn't have any other devices. I ended up tuning into a Latino station---the music was peppy and the commercials were more entertaining because I couldn't understand them---it was like, "La la de da de la de John Smith Ford!"
