I really like the different angles everyone has on their view of Christmas. I also liked John's thoughts about how Sam shouldn't be waiting up to shoot Santa and he felt sorry for it. But then, he didn't dwell on it, which was just right for the feel of the story, I think. Very nicely done.

Thanks. It hints that John didn't get a lot of sleep afterward---I think he's gonna crash on the couch all afternoon---and he's not real happy about Dean's attitude, either, but they are what he made them....

Yeah, I could see Dean as a cocky adolescent smartass, and John giving him The Look.

Cookies and eggnog for everyone!

His father gets the last word: "Bah, humbug."

Ah, yes. John Winchester would make a perfect Scrooge. lol
I love Sammy trying to trap Santa and John feeling kind of guilty about it. Great characterization of the family. They can all come to my house for a hearty home cooked meal and some hugs!

Thanks. I'm surprised nobody's done John as Marley's ghost, or maybe I just missed it...? What am I saying---of course, the boys burned and salted the bones, thus depriving us of a great potential plotline....

There was just something about the idea of John making an event of breakfast once a year that made me all schmoopy. That came from a friend's dad who used to be in the Air Force, and him reminiscing about conning the mess staff into fixing "shit on a shingle" for him while he was deployed. (He was in 'Nam, too.)

Uh-huh...figuring he'll at least get stocking gifts out of it before he has to pop the guy. Smart!
