So, um, how's it going fandom? I'm attempting to get back into the swing of that crazy thing we call human interaction (Yes, I know, internet. Baby steps here, people, baby steps
( Read more... )
Right at the moment, it's Nightwing (bye Bruce Jones! I won't miss you!), She-Hulk, Nextwave, Astonishing X-Men (Scott! Emma! Kitty! Joss!), Teen Titans (because I love Cassie even if no-one else will), Wonder Woman (when it actually comes out), 52 (sucker for the DC marketing machine) and other random stuff I can't remember right now- mostly DC. I must make a big comics post at some point.
Nightwing, 52, Wonder Woman, Teen Titans (even though I read with my hands over my face), Wonder Woman, Action Comics/Superman stuff, Birds of Prey, Outsiders (now with, for the moment, canon girl loving! Bless you, Winick!), The Flash (BART. I... suspect the book could be seriously bad and I'd read it because, BART), Green Arrow. The book of my heart right now is Daredevil which is ignoring Civil War wackieness and just being awesome. There is probably more that I'm forgetting, but yeah. (Oh Cassie! I am loving the stuff with her in Supergirl. I like Cassie, I just hate how she gets written if that makes sense. Girl cannot catch a break).
That Solo issue was made of win. (What, me? Upgrade just to use this icon? Never.)
Yes, I'm debating coming back to Outsiders. It's just that I heartily distrust Winick at the mo (I've been hurt by him before. Ah, Indigo, I miss you.) Yes, Supergirl is disturbing tempting at the mo. I love Cassie, and I've got about 50 unfinished fics where I try to justify the writers. Because me, I'm *heart* Wonder Girl. I'm just not so keen on this the Widow Superboy character she's been replaced with. She's written well in Wonder Woman, but that's so late it's like it never existed.
*clings* OMG WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?! I will never forgive you. (Except that I totally do. *loves*) I missed you!
You must now join me in Heroes fandom. I need help writing all those crazy, makes-a-sense-that-is-not pairings. (Ando/Zach! Claire/Hiro! Zach/anybody!)
I'M BACK NOW! PS I totally fb'd your fic and I'm glad you pointed me to a Heroes fic comm because I'd just seen ep 4. (OMG Claire! Nikki! Kick-ass girls beating skeezy guys FTW.)
Claire/Hiro is giving me vague and unspecific thoughts. (Is it wrong if my current OTP is Simone/Isaac? Canon het is my secret kink. *g*)
Because I am weird and I always fall for the girlfriend, I had a thing for Simone from the start. And somehow recently her and Zach got super hot once they'd broken up. ...I feel this may reveal sometime about me.
I had hopes for Niki the whole time too, but Claire never grabbed me til she sneaked off the autopsy table. And from then on she was so awesome I think I'm in love. Can't quite get a handle on Claire/Zach though. That one seems impossible just yet (and you know what happens once I say I can't see a pairing *g*).
*uses only Marvel icon, message obviously not directed at you*vanilla_tigerOctober 18 2006, 15:36:16 UTC
Thanks! I like bits of Marvel - She-Hulk and Nextwave are brilliant. Runaways nope, but any X-Men title with heavy Scott content will always get me interested like Astonishing and First Class.
Dude, that's freaky. It's good to be back and it's nice (and pleasantly surprising) to know that my presence was missed.
Heroes is awesome. I know it 'cause they've been courting the comics geek crowd pretty heavily. Various people around the world discover they've got superpowers. No costumed-crimefighting though, much to the disappointment of the Japanese geekboy. *g*
In tone, it reminds me a lot of 'Lost' before it got boring. It's like they made a whole show out of the flashbacky parts, with characters' lives randomly intersecting and steadily getting closer and closer. It's very much an ensemble show, which is different. There's not one character who's the chief focus, which is refreshing, although some people find that that makes it a little hard to get involved. It starts off a bit slow, but now I officially love it.
Hello! I was just saying to Em the other day that I was wondering where you'd gone. Welcome back! Right now I also like Supernatural, so it's good to know we still share a fandom. *g*
