Prologue
March 3rd, 2010
Breaking News: The Jonas Brothers have canceled their 2010 tour completely and the two youngest members have run away from home. Rumor has it the two left letters to each family member, written together, but we haven’t been able to get a hold of any of them to confirm or deny this. This news is breaking the hearts of many teens and tweens this evening, what must their parents be thinking? Our thoughts are with the distraught family members.

”John, you’re on the scene now at their Dallas home, what is the current state of the Jonas family?”
“Well, Cindy, I can’t see very much because shortly after I arrived all the blinds were drawn, but it is clear this is devastating to everyone inside. It appeared that Kevin Senior seemed to be taking it the most violently and the last I saw was Denise trying to calm him down before the little one, Frankie, closed the blinds into the living room. They did indeed seem to have pieces of paper in hand and the rumor of there being letters gains credibility. The police are inside as well probably to discuss search options as Nick is still under eighteen.”
“Well, that is something at the very least. Thanks , John-“
“Wait, we have movement! The door, yeah, it’s definitely opening and I see Pastor Jonas standing there. He’s got something in his hand, an envelope, and Denise is trying to hold him back. He doesn’t look happy…”
“Oh boy, John, I really hope we’re not about to witness some sort fight, this is really causing quite a ruckus, isn’t it?”
“I don’t…I don’t believe it, he’s coming over here.”
“Is he coming to you or is he going to the car, either way he doesn’t look dressed to go out…”
“No, Cindy, he’s definitely coming over here and he’s, oh, he wants to talk to me.”
“Here’s your story, get off my property.”
“Well, that’s a new development; Pastor Jonas just gave my associate on site an envelope and walked back toward the house. He didn’t sound happy; in fact, he sounded pretty angry and looked tired. Well, I guess you should get going, John. So, ‘what’s in the envelope?’ I think is the question on the tip of everyone’s tongues.

This just in: The reason Joe and Nick left home? They’re in love…with each other. Ground-breaking news as evidence straight from their hands in a letter written to their father confirmed it: Joe and Nick Jonas are gay. Apparently, there was a family dispute and Mom and Dad disowned them so the two took off to be with each other. What do you think? Romantic love story or tragic downfall of two of America’s best? This is the very letter that Joe and Nick sent to Papa J., ripping the hearts out of teeny-boppers everywhere. Joick is real, and here is the proof as seen on CBS which is the lucky station that was able to acquire the very first copy. OceanUp has managed to get a copy of one other letter, the one they left for Frankie, and this is from a source who wishes to remain anonymous for what I’m sure are obvious reasons. Here are both letters for further proof of their love for one another.

”It’s been one week since two-thirds of the Jonas Brothers disappeared seemingly into thin air and it doesn’t look like they are coming back any time soon.”
“Well, Laura, do you blame them? Nothing good could come of them coming back, especially with their secret being out, now.”
“No, Mark, I suppose not. I have a feeling that if they haven’t been spotted yet, they aren’t going to be. They’ve got two of the most recognizable faces in the world right now, if they wanted to be found, they would have been.”
“I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if anything new develops. In more recent events…”

Joe and Nick may not have been found yet, but they’ve been heard! Apparently they left a message on the family answering machine to commemorate Nick’s eighteenth birthday yesterday and to assure Mom, older brother Kevin and little Frankie that they are doing just fine. They didn’t say anything to Papa J. which leaves us all wondering what the heck happened to this once happy family.

Nick and Joe Jonas spotted in Nevada? Apparently the two were spotted in a camp site near the Grand Canyon, but the two were gone before our source could get a better look! They did manage to get one picture and, well, it looks like them, alright - except their left fingers are missing something. Well, well, well…looks like Kevin isn’t the only band member to become a man within the past year, after all. Then again, when they ran away eight months ago and left those devastating notes were we really expecting anything else? Kevin Jonas allowed People an exclusive interview to talk about his upcoming movie, his solo career and the nursery him and his wife, Danielle, have just added to their house in Dallas. He’s also made time to talk to us about how the breakup of the band he was part of and suddenly missing his two best friends is affecting him and his family and his thoughts about his brother’s unconventional relationship. He even gave us a copy of the last two letters, giving People the exclusive details.
People: Kevin, thank you so much for being here with us and being so open about your life even though everything has been so…hectic lately.
K2: Oh, it’s really no problem, I mean it has been a difficult time but we’re making the best we can out of it and, really, and the only way for life to move on is to let it. I mean, we know they are alive and that does help, Danielle’s been amazing throughout all of this - she’s really been there for me.
People: I bet. Its times like these where you really need those closest to you who are still around to be there for you.
K2: Yeah, well, everything was a pretty big mess for a while and in some ways it still is. You know, they actually called me the other day and left a voicemail. I don’t know if I was supposed to mention this or not, but they asked me to tell Mom, Dad and Frankie that they were okay and they let me know they were okay. Its little things like that which makes it easier and harder to keep being strong. But I know that they’re out there and that no matter which road I took, they would always be proud of me.
People: So, Kevin, can we start with what happened because everyone really wants to know. What happened in March?
K2: Well, when our dad found out that Joe and Nick were…romantically involved it didn’t go over well to the point where he was talking about therapy and disowning them, it was really bad…
People: And what was your initial reaction, how do you feel about all of this? You obviously aren’t too mad if you’re saying how glad you are that they are okay.
K2: Well, I was definitely a little surprised at first, but they’re my brothers…I mean out of all of us, they’ve always been extremely close that I guess it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise as it did? But…I love them, and if they read this I want them to know they are always welcome with me and Dani. Can we talk about something else now?
People: Of course, so how about that movie you just finished filming?

It’s Christmas and the Jonas family is spending it apart, almost completely apart. No one knows where Joe and Nick are although they are probably together; Kevin and Danielle have a new baby to take care of and are spending a quiet holiday together, Mom and Dad are in their house in New Jersey and Frankie is spending the time with the Lovato’s. It feels like this time last year, everyone was a little less tense in Hollywood.

We’re almost into the New Year, folks, and boy has it been an interesting one! We have Kevin Jonas here with us in Times Square with fellow musician John Mayer. The two just recorded several songs that went straight to the top of the charts. Their families are with us here, too, or most of them. Oh, here we go! Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four -

“Three, two, one,” Kevin whispered turned to capture his wife’s lips with his own, a hand curling around the small of her back, their small, beautiful baby girl asleep in Danielle’s arms as they kissed in Times Square surrounded by friends and family. There was only one thing that could make this day better and that was if Joe and Nick decided to come home, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen - at least not any time soon. “I love you,” he whispered before bending down and kissing their daughter, Melanie, on the forehead. “And I love you.”
“I love you, too!” Danielle smiled broadly before they kissed again.

“Three,” Denise said, her hand twining with that of her husband’s.
“Two,” Kevin senior added and they smiled sadly at each other a moment before saying together, “One.”
Their lips pressed together firmly but quickly as they sat in the green room of the studio, safe indoors from the wintry cold and the hole in her heart just got bigger as she wondered if her boys had the same kind of safety in that moment.

Franklin Jonas wrapped an arm around Madison Lovato’s shoulders as the group chorused around them, “Three, two, one…” He pressed a quick kiss to the girl’s cheek as he ignored his cell phone buzzing in his pocket. She giggled and snuggled closer as their fingers locked together and he felt…content, happy, for the first time in almost a year.

The crowd was crazy as everyone in Times Square counted down, “Three,” Kevin looked so happy with Danielle. “Two, ” and their daughter was absolutely precious! Joe hoped one day they could meet her after all. “One!” and he grinned, hat pulled low over his eyes as he tugged hard on the hand in his. Nick fell against him with a soft ‘oomph’ and suddenly they were kissing. Their lips met, tingly like it was the first time all over again, and they let it last, tasting each other as if they’d never had anything better. After all this time, it still never got old. Knowing that everyone they loved was safe and warm and happy, they slipped out of the crowd as easily as they’d slipped in, hand in hand, steps in sync as if they moved to the same beat.
