I don't remember ever being affected this badly by heat. In Atlanta three summers ago it literally made me sick, but at least I could escape to
dakoopst's air conditioned apartment. This week my apartment seems to trap the heat, and I can't get a cross breeze. I can't move. If I get out from in front of the fan for two minutes I am dripping with sweat.

Spring is definitely approaching here, for which I am grateful.
Fans - especially at night - give me a sore throat, so last summer when it was particularly hot, I learned to sleep with an ice pack behind my neck, something that usually helps for me for migraine. Even during daytime, it works like a charm when you are sitting somewhere, with an ice pack propped between your neck and the chair.
Of course, my long hair means that I needn't buffer the cold - but you might want to wrap a towel around the ice pack.
