I should probably write this in my writing journal, I but I think I'd rather house it here for easier referencing someday ( Read more... )

Gay Pirates In Space

There is ALWAYS a need for more gay pirates in space. ALWAYS.

I starting reading your except on your writing journal last night, and got really caught up in it (but was way too tired to comment & then forgot today, my apologies). I know you said you need to believe it yourself before it matters what other people say, but for what it's worth, I liked it. Obviously it was in it's rough unedited stage, but even then there were elements that kept me reading to the end of the excerpt. Life's character really jumped out, especially considering I have no prior character background on him to help form a picture of who he is. So keep going (but do rename the main villinous country if you are inclined to, because every time I saw it I giggled, which is probably not what you intended).

I'm 100% convinced my novel will be boring, but I've developed an "oh well" attitude. XD

Yeah, it's just a bitch to type Tyrankovstaln too. I'm thinking of renaming it Amerika. Too obvious, maybe? Ahahhaha. Thanks though, I appreciate the rest of it. XD

I bet your story is better than you expect too. But it is hard to convince yourself sometimes, too. Not so bad if you don't have publishing dreams, I guess. Sob.

Ahahahaha I'd still giggle for Amerika, but in terms of (what I assume) is an imperialistic coffee-mongering empire, it fits ;) No problem! You definitely have the ability to draw the reader along with you through the story. (And I have no reason to 'kiss your arse' so cross my heart it's my honest opinion).

Publishing dreams...ahh...I'll deal with those after the damn book is finished XD If ever. It feels like it's taking FOREVER. I'd post excerpts too except, like, I'm not sure anything has happened worth excerpting.

Ahahahaa, I'll come up with some other idea later that is neither Amerika or Tyrankovstaln. Aaah, the beauty of "Find/Replace." And then you can say "I remember when Du'Ajr'bansta was called Tyrankovstaln!" Ahahaha sob ( ... )

Thank you for realizing this. As much as I could say it, it just won't matter until YOU realize it, absorb it, and do something good with it. I'm glad you've come to that point and can refer back to this entry.

Ahahahaha, thanks. ♥ It is a bad fact that although I love having praise from my friends, it's also a bit double-edged because despite trusting people like you (and you especially) not to sugar-coat your praise, it is still often taken with a, "But of course my friends are going to say it's great!"

Having said that, have you ever read or critiqued one of my stories? ... that wasn't Ranma ½ fanfic from 1995? XD

Ahahahaa, thanks, I really do appreciate it. XD

Though "Van" and "Man" don't actually rhyme with the way I say "Van." (Like Vaughn.) BUT IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS. ♥

I don't think it's going to be the bestest thing I've ever written, or an instant classic or huge best seller, but I do think it will be an entertaining book that will be enjoyed by the people who bother to give it a chance. And right now that's enough for me.
