I am in awe of her fondant abilities. The flower is my favorite part!

I guess the pie is for Pushing Daisies?

Aww, thanks ;)

It's actually gum paste, not fondant, because g.p. dries hard and doesn't get squashed.

I'm still in awe. I went to culinary school and I am total shit when it comes to cake decorating. This is an awesome cake!

*blushes*

WOW. Compliments are one thing, but the fact that you went to culinary school makes it 1000x more meaningful. Thanks!

OK (without having a look at other comments):

TARDIS
Al Stewart
UNIT symbol?
Liberator!
Manga reference? / Japanese for Happy Birthday?
Pie!
I don't know what the green and white things is, or the significance of the flower is.

But WHAT AN AWESOME CAKE! How could you eat it? What kind was it?

The Chinese characters are, if I am not mistaken, a Firefly/Serenity reference. ;)

Ah, that makes sense (even if there weren't any Chinese characters in the series)!

I haven't watched it in a while, but... I would be somewhat surprised if they hadn't smattered them about in the background, from time to time.

The Fruity Oaty Bar commercial in Serenity (that triggered River) had chinese characters in it, for example. ;)

Wow, that's cool!

I'm guessing that the green and white thing is sushi and since the flower is a hibiscus it represents your rather loud Hawaiian shirts? :)

Happy Birthday!
