Al Stewart in concert & Santa Monica

So, I am back from the Al Stewart concert and spending the day down in Santa Monica with my parents. It was quite nice. Santa Monica is a beautiful city with usually beautiful weather, on the beach, and Al was fantastic. I took a bunch of pictures and did a bit of a write up on the concert. About 30 pictures in all

He looks so different with short hair! I don't think I'd have recognised him. It's rather sad that not many young people were there, but I'm glad he got a packed venue.

I really will have to get all the stuff I'm missing. I so love his work and the intelligent and interesting lyrics.

I've seen a bunch of pictures of him older, so I was surprised, though his hair is shorter than I've seen it. I like it this way more, actually. I mean, of course I love his long 70s hair, but he had sort of longer hair older too and I like this much more. I think there ARE a lot of younger fans out there (I mean, I know several!) but they may've just not been at this venue. I think concerts aren't something people really think about with older artists.

babel's got copies of things if you need, you know. I really think you'd like both of his most recent CDs.

Hey Van, what an enjoyable read! You may be interested to know that my two older daughters and their husbands love Al, and all are in their 20's. Actually, I wore down my girls over the years. They used to ridicule me on a regular basis. (lol) Now, they are not fans like those in alstewartfriends, but they've all seen him several times, and probably will join me in Easton in August.
Y'know, I didn't even like "Dark and Rolling Sea" until a few years ago. Now it's one of my favorites, maybe in my top 40, anyway. Talk to you soon! Bob
