Ms Jones did kidnap Peter in one of the books! A Life in Pieces. Which is set in S6. Ms Jones was feeling really unacknowledged and ignored on the Collection - people were still treating her like crap about her relationship with Moskof, even while she was babysitting students - and isolated and things, so Ms Jones left. Then she came back and kidnapped Peter. It sounds like Brax set her up as having stolen security plans for the Collection but that she didn't actually do that; Brax just needed an excuse to reconfigure the Collection to match his TARDIS. (Which makes no sense to me, because quite frankly, Brax does whatever the hell he wants and everyone just goes "oh Brax is being a weirdo again" and that's how he got away with what he did for so long.) SO. Ms Jones kidnapped Peter because Peter ended up shunted between Benny, who was always gone, and Jason, who was not a model parent, and Adrian, who was busy working. He never really had anyone to take care of him. So she kidnapped him so that he could be raised sane and normal,

...Whoa. I feel bad for her... Though admittedly, I hadn't noticed she was absent from things from that season until someone brought her up and I was like, "Oh yeah, where is--...she's dead?!"
I think that's the only thing I'm not liking about the range is that all these fun things happen in the books and merely alluded to in the audios (or, er, not at all). It's a bit frustrating at times. ^^;
To be fair, people only pop up sporadically, so I can't blame you for not noticing.
Yes, that's a big problem. They managed to tone it down a fair bit in later seasons, but it was a huge problem when, for example, audio-listeners were suddenly surprised to find that Benny was pregnant and Adrian was the father. But then, that is one reason I adore the books. That and the books giving me such gems as Brax's diamond cufflinks or Jason writing pseudo-criticism about his own xenopornography.
Also: yes, that season makes me cry too. Guess why there were no clips from S8 in my clip-sharing post. (Though if I had made clips from it, I'd have taken the clip from Freedom of Information. "Is Professor Summerfield in her rooms?" "Ohh, she's most certainly is. Don't get too close: she bites.")
I know, it was awful listening to Jason die. I absolutely adore Jason, he's my favourite character of the entire range and just...yes. Poor poor Jason, god Brax, why must he do these things. And Maggie too, I loved her too, and then they do that to her D:
Season eight really was so so depressing, but there are a few wonderful moments that make me giggle too, like Brax reappearing on the Collection and bringing the sun back out, or the stuff in The Final Amendment with Jason Kane's series (the part with Brax saying he's in love with Benny and she should call him Daddy still makes me crack up every time, and makes me joke to Farrah that robot!brax is secretly Tamaki) and also the part there where robot!Brax is chasing Benny and she's all "wait a minute, you're not even a clone!" and he's all "Oh, I know, I just got so swept up in the moment."
Also, speaking of The Final Amendment, I was actually talking about that today and saying how robot!Brax totally needs to be clone!Benny's advisor, just for the meta lulz of that and the fact
